Orlando came to us highly recommended by a friend and absolutely lived up to the reputation.

Orlando is a walking history book in a friendly, easygoing manner. He's always eager to share his knowledge in a way that's both informative and engaging. Plus, he's happy to answer any questions you may have and adapts easily to each client's needs.

We undertook a walking tour in Porto and a day in the Douro Valley with Orlando. He tailored each experience to our interests and abilities and both were absolutely wonderful in terms of information and enjoyment. 

Orlando also referred us to a colleague for a fabulous food tour in Porto.

We would recommend Orlando to others seeking a memorable experience of Porto and/or the Douro Valley and the other tours he offers in the region.

Hi Orlando,

firstly thank you so much for a wonderful two days. We really packed it in to our short visit to Porto. Both days were incredible. You really went to great trouble to accommodate me and my disability today. Much thanks. After the port +++ and the vino at lunch, I was fit for bed. When you dropped us back to hotel, we went straight to bed and slept for an hour before dinner tonight. It was a very wonderful day. Action packed. We are very grateful to you and your incredible knowledge for showing us your beautiful part of Portugal. Cos of parking, we couldn’t shake a proper Irish hand of thanks as we departed but if we back in Porto again, we will raise a glass. Thank you so much.

About local Orlando

Pick Orlando!!

It's rare to find great people, and it's even rare to find them online, when you are looking for city guide. Orlando is passionate, super knowledgeable and a true professional. We were traveling with our 3.5 yr old son, and he immediately customized the tour for us without even us asking. He made sure we saw the key things in the city and explained us the history. He answered some of our deep rooted European history questions that ChatGPT couldn't have answered. He was concerned that our kid wasn't feeling well, and went above and beyond to make sure we found the right hospital for children. We are so super thankful that we met Orlando! If you want to see Porto, and Orlando is available - it will be a mistake not to go with him!

Wonderful tour of Porto

Our family of four had a walking tour with Orlando at the end of June. Orlando was prompt and great to communicate with beforehand. He has such a rich historical knowledge of Porto and three hours wasn't long enough to hear all that he had to share! We enjoyed our time immensely with Orlando and would have liked to book some different tours with him and will do so if we return. It was a very hot day and Orlando catered for the heat beautifully so that we weren't walking up big hills too much in the hot sun. It was a great tour and worth every cent, thank you Orlando for your time and for sharing your knowledge with us, we loved it!

A fun day exploring Douro Valley

We had a great day with Orlando! He was a lovely and engaging host and by the end of the our tour we felt like old friends. The tour itself had a nice flow, boat ride, lunch, tasting at a winery with a great/funny guide. We also stopped in a cute town on the way home for some ham and wine, which turned out to be an unexpected highlight. All in all, would definitely book Orlando again if I find myself back in this awesome city.

Orlando was the perfect choice.

My wife and I got a tour of Porto’s highlights from Orlando yesterday. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history, architecture and people of Porto. In addition, he had a great sense of humor and was willing to share his opinions on things rather than providing answers that contained no substance. It was a walking tour, which we like, and we sat a number of times where Orlando brought up interesting facts about the particular area where we currently were. From my perspective, the place I enjoyed the most was the Bank of Building Materials, a truly unique place that allows people in Porto to blend in the history of Porto with the current and future state if the City. There were additional places to see, things to do and restaurants that Orlando recommended to us for the remainder of our stay in Porto. Perhaps more importantly, he also mentioned things not to do that were not worth the time and/or money spent during our brief stay in his wonderful city. All in all, we strongly recommend Orlando to provide his guide services during your time in Porto. Great guy and it was a great experience for us!

Porto is so much more then Trolley Cars, Waterfront bars & 6 Bridges boat rides, and yes even more then the Livraria Lello book store!
Take a magical Street tour with Orlando. He will bring the the city to life for you. As a wonderful storyteller and his vast knowledge of the city he loves, you'll learn why the first King left his heart in Porto. You'll see the nooks & crannies of the old streets of Porto and know why the city takes pride in their tile clad buildings. Trust me the Material Bank was amazing. We enjoyed our City tour with Orlando so much we also booked a Douro Valley tour with him. You will have a day to remember when you spend time with the Storyteller.
