Ourisland was born out of the desire of three friends to do what they know best: to share their experiences with people from all over the globe. We will provide you with unique moments of sharing through our broad geographical, historical and cultural knowledge, and through our enthusiasm to explore the charming beauties of the Azorean Islands with you. You will be welcomed by attentive hosts, who constantly care about your well-being and are committed to delivering a holiday experience as relaxed as enriching.

Faial doesn't do the same trail twice. One day it's clear skies and endless views, the next it's fog rolling through the forest and everything feels a little more hidden. 🌿

Nearly perfectly round. 400 metres deep. Older than you'd think, younger than you'd guess. It's like a time capsule that survived the Ice Age. 🌏

Descending into the Caldeira feels less like hiking and more like stepping into another version of Faial — one that's been protected since 1972 as one of the oldest nature reserves in the whole archipelago.

Mirna is a natural leader, an incredible communicator, and someone who brings joy wherever she goes.

For the past 7 years, we’ve been lucky to work alongside her, and somehow, she still hasn’t gotten tired of us! 🫶

Yesterday we had the chance to spot humpback whales. 🐋

Unlike toothed whales, humpback whales feed by filtering huge amounts of water through baleen plates, allowing them to eat thousands of tiny organisms in a single day.

Seeing them in the wild, in the middle of the Atlantic, is one of those experiences that makes you feel very small in the best possible way 🌊

There’s no better way to end the day than sailing aboard these historic wooden whaling boats. ⚓️

Once used by Azorean whalers to chase s***m whales across the Atlantic, these boats now preserve the islands’ maritime history and culture, offering a beautiful way to connect with the ocean and the past.

We just want to be outdoors, so we created this new tour:
🥾 Full Day Faial: Hiking & Culture

This is how we like to experience Faial: slow, on foot, with time to notice the details and understand what we’re looking at.

In the morning, we walk around the Caldeira.
In the afternoon, we explore the island’s cultural side — Capelinhos and Praia do Norte.

A full-day experience that brings together nature and stories. Not just the highlights, but the feeling of the island.

On March 14th, we came together for a coastal clean-up 🌊 to mark 10 years of Our Island and Endemic Azores. This was our way of giving back to the place where we work and to the community we are part of.

Around 50 incredible volunteers joined us, and together we collected 83.5 kg of marine litter.

This initiative was made possible with the support of our partners:
