The ocean always sets the conditions and our job is knowing where to go.

On days with stronger swell and uncomfortable sea outside the coast, we often head into the bay of Alvor instead. The bay offers naturally calmer waters, shelter from the waves and a completely different atmosphere on board.

It’s quieter, more relaxed and honestly one of the most beautiful ways to spend the day sailing in the Algarve.

Real sailing is not about forcing the route. It’s about creating the best possible experience with the sea conditions we have.

Bad sea conditions? No problem for our sailors.

Over the years, we’ve realised that the small details really makes the difference.

The way people are welcomed.
The energy onboard.
The guides you spend the tour with.
The feeling you leave with afterwards.

Good guides matter.
Good boats matter.
Good conditions matter.

And maybe that’s why so many people end up saying the kayak tour was their favourite part of Lagos.

Today, coming from Benagil, it showed up something we weren’t really expecting.
At first, it was just movement in the distance… a fin coming up, disappearing again, and that feeling that something bigger was out there.
When they got closer and realising it was orcas was one of those moments that just makes us stop for a second.

Orcas do pass along our coast from time to time, usually moving along the Atlantic waters of Portugal and Spain. They’re often linked to the migration of bluefin tuna, which they follow as they move through these areas.

So even though it’s not something you see every day in Lagos, it’s also not completely unusual, just one of those moments where everything lines up.
Our coastline is mostly known for dolphins, caves and calm days at sea…
not so much for encounters like this.
So yeah… a pretty good day out there.

This might be the most unreal place in Portugal… and yes, it’s even better in real life.

Summer is basically knocking on the door, our jet boat is back in the water, and we’re ready to do what we do best: chasing caves and dolphins around the Algarve.

One minute you’re cruising along the cliffs, the next you’re inside the legendary Benagil cave… and if the ocean is in a good mood, we might run into a few dolphins on the way (they usually like to steal the show).

So if your summer plans include sunshine, salty hair and questioning whether this place is actually real… you know where to find us.

These photos are from yesterday.
February 21st. Yes, February.

After weeks of storms, grey skies and a dramatic “is winter ever ending?” Yesterday looked like this. Glassy water, sun was shining, happy kayakers paddling around Ponta da Piedade like it’s mid-July.

Today? Southwest swell. So no kayaks. Nature still runs the show and we need to respect that.

But here’s the thing, the good days are lining up. Warmer temperatures are coming, conditions are stabilising, and February is clearly trying to redeem itself.

If this is what late February looks like, imagine what’s next.

Kayak season isn’t coming.
It’s already here.
