Three destinations, countless experiences, and one unforgettable journey through Portugal! 🇵🇹🍊

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group of top travel advisors for a Trip across , and — three distinct destinations that reveal so much of what makes special.

With the invaluable support of our local partners, we were able to showcase what The Little Orange does best: boutique hotels with a true sense of place, unexpected experiences, memorable dining moments, and plenty of thoughtful details and surprises along the way.

From Lisbon's vibrant city life to the Alentejo's countryside charm and the Algarve's stunning coastline, this journey was all about meaningful connections, authentic encounters and discovering Portugal beyond the expected.

A heartfelt thank you to our Mexican travel advisors for their enthusiasm and curiosity, and to all our partners who helped bring this journey to life.

We’re closing October on a high note in Colombia.

From 25–28 October, our Sales Manager, Alison, will represent The Little Orange at the F1S SUMM1T in Cartagena, the cornerstone gathering of the First in Service global network.

As a preferred partner of F1S , we’re especially excited to be part of this year’s edition, which also celebrates the company’s 35th anniversary and brings its global advisor community and supplier partners together in Colombia for the very first time.

And the conversations won’t stop there: Alison will then spend 29–30 October in Bogotá, meeting with additional industry partners and continuing to strengthen The Little Orange’s connections in the Colombian market.

A fitting way to close a busy month of travel, meetings and new opportunities.

👟 Born in 1933, Sanjo became one of Portugal’s best-known sneaker brands. Its classic silhouettes are now being reinterpreted for a new generation.

🍫 Founded in Porto in 1933, Arcádia keeps Portuguese confectionery traditions alive while evolving its boutiques, presentation and identity for today.

Few materials are as closely tied to Portugal as the azulejo.

For centuries, tiles have told stories, protected façades, decorated palaces and churches, and reflected the artistic influences of each era. What makes them so special is that they have never stopped evolving.

Founded in 1849, Viúva Lamego is one of the names that best represents that continuity: preserving traditional craftsmanship while working with contemporary artists, architects and designers.

At The Little Orange, shopping is less about consumption and more about connection.

Connection to the people who make things; To workshops where skills have been passed down through generations; To markets, historic shops and small businesses that are part of the fabric of a place; To Portuguese textiles, ceramics, basketry, jewellery, woodwork, cosmetics and countless other crafts that carry stories within them...

We believe that what we choose to buy while travelling can also be a way of supporting what makes a destination distinctive.

So rather than fast fashion, mass retail and the same international brands found everywhere, we prefer a different approach: Slow Shopping 😇

Buying less, but choosing better; Understanding where something comes from;
Meeting the hands behind it; Supporting local businesses, traditional knowledge and contemporary Portuguese creativity.

Because shopping can be a way of helping a story continue.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve shared some of the many reasons why the archipelago of deserves a place on the travel list year-round: its dramatic landscapes, mild climate, remarkable gastronomy, colourful produce, rich traditions, exceptional hotels and endless possibilities for exploration.

Madeira w**e? Of course.
Table w**es? Increasingly well known.
Poncha? Definitely.
But cider…? 🍏

In the hills of Camacha, an area long associated with apples, one artisanal producer has quietly turned a local tradition into something far more ambitious.

What began almost by accident, as a personal experiment, soon evolved into a serious family project built on curiosity, craftsmanship and a very good palate.

Today, their ciders are internationally awarded and increasingly present at some of the island’s acclaimed restaurants, where they are paired with local dishes just as thoughtfully as w**e. Some are even aged in old Madeira w**e barrels, creating a beautiful connection between two of the island’s traditions.

The best way to discover them is at the source: visit the cidery, learn about the production process, taste the different styles and finish with a warm Madeiran meal.

Inland, the landscape changes completely. The UNESCO-listed Forest covers a significant part of the island, creating a dramatic setting of dense vegetation, steep valleys and mountain trails.
