We changed the Gondolas for Moliceiros, colourful boats traditionally used for seaweed-harvesting, and now we have our Portuguese Venice. The city of Aveiro is crossed by a network of channels, and the buildings in Art Nouveau makes it even more beautiful. And when you're there, don't forget to taste the “ovos moles" (soft eggs).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There is a giant Iberian lynx in Lisbon. This beautiful work from the portuguese urban artist, Bordalo II, was built entirely from rubbish. And there's more....spread throughout Lisbon are several of his animal sculptures, integrated in the “Big Trash Animals” initiative. Heading for the Azores? Angra do Heroismo, on the island of Terceira, is an architectural jewel. Brasil has the Carnival Parade, Lisbon has the Popular Marches. For one night, the people from neighbourhoods of old Lisbon parade on the main avenue, to the sound of traditional music, colorful outfits, singing with all their energy.
