🌿💚 Manjericos – Small in size, big in Lisbon’s heart 💚🌿
June has arrived… and with it come the manjericos!
These small, round basil plants with their unmistakable scent are true icons of the Lisbon Festivities. 🇵🇹✨
But manjericos are more than just a plant:
🍃 they symbolize love, luck, and joy.
🍃 they are gifted with a traditional four-line verse, often romantic or playful.
🍃 and they should never be smelled directly — only by gently brushing with your hand, as tradition says!
During the festivities, manjericos decorate windows, balconies, tables, and altars. They’re gifted to sweethearts, family, and friends as a sign of affection and celebration.

During the month of June, Lisbon transforms into a city full of color, joy, and devotion. One of the most charming traditions is the creation of the Altars of Saint Anthony, lovingly made by the residents of the city’s historic neighborhoods. ✨
🏠 In front of homes, on stairways, patios, and windowsills, locals build small altars with the image of Saint Anthony, flowers, candles, colorful ribbons, and of course, the traditional basil plant. It's an act of faith — and also an open invitation to neighbors and visitors to share in the celebration.
🌟 Some are simple and humble, others true pieces of folk art — but all reflect the love of those who build them and the deep bond between the saint and the city.

Our Story

It all started a long time ago, when my grandfather was only 12 and left for Brazil alone by boat, with the mission of earning a living.He worked hard and created a pastry business.Years later he returned to Portugal and decided to invest and had the building built.For years the floors were rented on a long term basis.From my grandad it passed on to my father and later to me.In 2014 when a floor vacated, I decided to try "the vacation rental" mode, as my dream when I was a little girl was working with turism. Gradually more floors became vacant and I adapted them to short term rental. It was a pleasant surprise the pleasure it gave me to discover this activity. Welcoming Guests is still the best part and making them feel welcome and comfortable is very rewarding.Right now the whole building is dedicated to this activity that keeps me busy 7 days a week.

Great location in central Lisbon, in a totally refurbished property, a four apartment’s sleeps 9 with high standards, to provide maximum comfort. Each with 140 m2,charming apartment’s with a beautiful wood floor, with a bright living where you will find a double size sofa-bed, TV and Wi-Fi. One dining room. Two large double bedrooms with super king size beds. One large room with two single beds, with a nice view from the balcony and another room with a single bed. Two spacious bathroom’s with amenities available. Towels and linen are freshly washed for you. You can also enjoy having a meal on a very nice glass veranda or patio. The apartments has a full equipped kitchen for 9, with fridge, freezer, gas oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, juice squeezer, kettle, dish and washing machine. As a treat coffee and tea are available for you to enjoy! Just outside the building you will find cafes, restaurants, and a marketplace (150 mts) where you can buy fresh vegetables, fish and meat. There’s also a grocery store, supermarkets, and a pharmacy. Nearby, a great shopping area, gardens and a church. Parking at 2 minutes, 200 mts walking. Subway at 2 minutes, 200 mts walking with direct line either to the airport (15minutes) and down town (7 minutes) to the Hystorical zone
