WE MADE IT!

Against all odds, in our 500€ Opel Corsa, we actually made it!
During 42 days, we visited 22 countries and drove more than 20.000km.
Despite all the challenges and headaches, this truly was the best experience of our lives. From the big cities to the tinniest villages, we met incredible friendly people, who were always willing to help and welcome us with a big smile. We will never forget the tough roads, the amazing lakes and the breathtaking landscapes.

We couldn't have done this without all the support from our families, friends and many Mongol Rally teams.
Massive thanks to all of you!

Now, time to go home.
(But first, a pit stop in Moscow).

Great news!

Last night, after crossing the boarder with Kazakistan and Russia, Opel Corsa started to show some signs of weakness... It was overheating, loosing water from the cooling system, loosing oil and lots, lots of white smoke...
We pulled over several times and were helped by the great team Kiwi Kite Surfers. After some time, we realized that the head gasket had blown up: we had to be towed for 100km. (Huge thanks Kiwi Kite Surfers - Mongol Rally, you guys are the best!).
When we arrived at the hostel, the car didn't even started. Given our tight schedule and the age of the car, we thought the rally was over.

This morning, after some google translation efforts with the receptionist of our hostel, we found a garage.
Nicolai, the manager, was the best: drove us to a store, bought a new head gasket, and put the entire team working on Opel Corsa.
After 7 hours (way after dinner time), the car was ready.
Back from the dead!

Mongolia boarder here we go! (fingers crossed)

NO INTERNET!
Many apologies for the lack of activity during the last days! We were in Iran and Turkmenistan, and there was no internet at all.
At the moment, we are in Uzbekistan: best country so far!
We will try to post some pics in the next minutes!
