𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲!

Nine days, six riders from the USA 🇺🇸, Mexico 🇲🇽, Brazil 🇧🇷 and Australia 🇦🇺, and one unforgettable loop around the land of fire and ice. From the Blue Lagoon to the Golden Circle, glaciers, waterfalls, black beaches, whales, volcanoes and a ride under a fjord, his group saw it all.

With bags packed and bikes handed back, it's time to say goodbye to Iceland, but not before one last look back at everything this island shared with us this week.

The morning started with the "Into the Glacier" experience: a monster truck ride into a man-made tunnel carved inside Langjökull, Iceland's second largest glacier, the largest ice tunnel of its kind in the world, with a chapel built into the ice.

Back on the bikes, the group passed through Borgarnes, then rode the Hvalfjörður tunnel, 5,770 meters long and 165 meters below sea level, right underneath the fjord, one of the few places on Earth to ride a motorcycle under water.

From there, back into Reykjavík, a memorable way to close the loop on the Ring Road.

A manhã começou com a experiência "Into the Glacier": um passeio em monster truck até um túnel artificial dentro do Langjökull, o segundo maior glaciar da Islândia — o maior túnel de gelo do género no mundo, com uma capela dentro do gelo.

De volta às motas, o grupo passou por Borgarnes, depois seguiu pelo túnel de Hvalfjörður, com 5.770 metros e 165 metros abaixo do nível do mar, mesmo por baixo do fiorde, um dos poucos locais do mundo onde é possível andar de mota debaixo de água.

Dali, o regresso a Reykjavík, uma forma memorável de fechar o ciclo da Ring Road.

Today the group crossed Iceland's main farming region, riding through wide open valleys and past the North Mountains on the way to Blönduós. Fewer stops than usual, but one was unmissable: the turf church of Víðimýri, built in 1834 and one of only six of its kind still standing in the country, walls and roof entirely covered in turf, a striking piece of living history.

Hoje o grupo atravessou a principal região agrícola da Islândia, seguindo por vales abertos e junto às Montanhas do Norte a caminho de Blönduós. Menos paragens do que o habitual, mas uma foi imperdível: a igreja de turfa de Víðimýri, construída em 1834 e uma das apenas seis do género ainda de pé no país, paredes e telhado inteiramente cobertos de turfa, um pedaço de história viva.

The morning started with a whale watching boat trip out of Húsavík harbour, before the group rode into one of Iceland's most active volcanic zones, past the Krafla caldera and the bubbling mud pots of Námafjall, to Lake Mývatn, shaped by a massive eruption 2,300 years ago.

Then came Goðafoss, the "waterfall of the gods," its legend tied to Iceland's conversion to Christianity in the year 1000. Arriving in Akureyri, a nice surprise awaited: a visit to the Icelandic Motorcycle Museum!

150 km through pure volcanic drama.

A manhã começou com um passeio de barco de observação de baleias em Húsavík, antes de o grupo seguir para uma das zonas vulcânicas mais ativas da Islândia, passando pela caldeira de Krafla e pelas poças de lama de Námafjall, até ao Lago Mývatn, moldado por uma erupção massiva há 2.300 anos.

Depois veio Goðafoss, a "cascata dos deuses," lenda ligada à conversão da Islândia ao Cristianismo no ano 1000. Ao chegar a Akureyri, uma bela surpresa esperava o grupo: uma visita ao Museu da Motocicleta da Islândia!

Long straights and wide-open views today as the group rode up to Ásbyrgi National Park, a horseshoe-shaped canyon carved by catastrophic glacial flooding thousands of years ago. From there, on to Dettifoss — Iceland's most powerful waterfall, thundering down 45 meters with a flow that shakes the ground beneath your boots.

The day wrapped up in Húsavík, the whale-watching capital of Iceland, its harbour lined with boats, cafés and centuries of seafaring history.

Retas longas e paisagens abertas hoje, com o grupo a seguir até ao Parque Nacional de Ásbyrgi, um canhão em forma de ferradura esculpido por inundações glaciares catastróficas há milhares de anos. Dali, seguiu-se Dettifoss — a cascata mais poderosa da Islândia, uma queda de 45 metros com um caudal que faz tremer o chão sob as botas.

O dia terminou em Húsavík, a capital da observação de baleias na Islândia, com o seu porto cheio de barcos, cafés e séculos de história marítima.

Today's ride hugged the coastal roads of Iceland's East Fjords, dramatic U-shaped valleys carved by ancient glaciers, flanked by sharp peaks and shallow natural harbours.

The group passed through Iceland's largest forest and stopped at the charming harbour town of Djúpivogur, its 1700s wooden houses still looking out over the bay. A glimpse of a black sand beach along the way rounded out the day.

310 km of remote wilderness, big skies, and some of the quietest roads on the whole tour.

O percurso de hoje seguiu as estradas costeiras dos Fiordes de Leste da Islândia, vales em forma de U esculpidos por antigos glaciares, ladeados por picos afiados e portos naturais pouco profundos.

O grupo atravessou a maior floresta da Islândia e parou na encantadora vila portuária de Djúpivogur, com as suas casas de madeira do século XVIII ainda viradas para a baía. Uma vista de uma praia de areia negra ao longo do caminho completou o dia.

310 km de natureza remota, céus imensos e algumas das estradas mais tranquilas de todo o tour.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲!

Riding exclusively on the Ring Road, the group's first stop was Skógafoss, one of Iceland's biggest waterfalls, its spray painting rainbows across the cliffs. Next, the black sands of Vík, then hour after hour alongside the massive Vatnajökull Glacier, the largest ice cap in Europe.

The day's highlight: Jökulsárlón, the glacier lagoon where icebergs calve straight into the water and drift out to Diamond Beach. The group even raised a toast with 500-year-old glacier ice, courtesy of MotoXplorers.

A rodar exclusivamente pela Ring Road, a primeira paragem foi em Skógafoss, uma das maiores cascatas da Islândia, com o seu spray a pintar arco-íris nas falésias. A seguir, as areias negras de Vík, e depois horas a fio ao lado do imenso glaciar Vatnajökull, o maior manto de gelo da Europa.

Riding out of Reykjavík in tight formation, our group headed straight into Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. A short hike through the rift valley meant literally standing between two continents.

Next: Geysir, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes, shooting boiling water up to 20 meters into the air. Then the thundering Gullfoss waterfall, and a stop at Seljalandsfoss, where riders walked right behind the curtain of falling water.

A sair de Reykjavík em formação apertada, o grupo seguiu direto para o Parque Nacional de Þingvellir, Património Mundial da UNESCO, onde as placas tectónicas Norte-Americana e Euroasiática se encontram. Uma pequena caminhada pelo vale de rift significou estar literalmente entre dois continentes.

A seguir: Geysir, onde o Strokkur entra em erupção a cada poucos minutos, lançando água a ferver até 20 metros de altura. Depois a imponente cascata de Gullfoss, e uma paragem em Seljalandsfoss, onde os pilotos caminharam mesmo por trás da cortina de água.

280 km, quatro dos locais mais icónicos da Islândia, um dia inesquecível.

Six riders from the USA, Mexico, Brazil and Australia touched down in Reykjavík, ready to chase the land of fire and ice on BMW GS motorcycles.

After the tour briefing and picking up the bikes, the group went for a short shakedown ride, then relaxed with a soak in the legendary Blue Lagoon, followed by the first group dinner at the Lava Restaurant, steam and volcanic views all around.

Tomorrow: the Golden Circle, with waterfalls, geysers and unforgettable landscapes. Buckle up!

Depois do briefing do tour e de levantarem as motas, o grupo saiu para um pequeno passeio de adaptação e depois relaxou com um mergulho na lendária Blue Lagoon, seguido do primeiro jantar de grupo na Lava Restaurant, entre v***r geotérmico e paisagens vulcânicas.

Amanhã: o Golden Circle, com cascatas, géiseres e paisagens inesquecíveis. Preparem-se!

320km on our final riding day, deep into the heart of Portugal, through some of its most beautiful mountain ranges. We climbed to the 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲, the highest point in mainland Portugal at 1,993m, with a stop at Senhora da Estrela along the way. ⛰️

We then crossed into the 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗱𝗼 𝗔ç𝗼𝗿, tackling challenging curves through deep green pine forests hiding traditional schist villages, with a stop in the historic village of 𝗣𝗶ó𝗱ã𝗼 to rest a while amid its unmistakable slate houses.

We rode through Pampilhosa da Serra, Arganil and Góis, beloved territory for Portuguese riders — before tackling a stretch of the legendary 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟮, one of the longest national roads in Europe.

We closed our final day of riding arriving in the lively capital: 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗮! 🏍️🇵🇹

320kms no nosso último dia de estrada, bem no interior de Portugal, por algumas das mais bonitas serras do país. Subimos até à 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲, o ponto mais alto de Portugal continental a 1.993m, com paragem na Senhora da Estrela pelo caminho. ⛰️

Seguimos depois para a 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗱𝗼 𝗔ç𝗼𝗿, enfrentando curvas desafiantes por entre pinhais de um verde intenso que escondem típicas aldeias de xisto, com paragem na Aldeia Histórica de 𝗣𝗶ó𝗱ã𝗼 para descansar um pouco por entre o seu inconfundível casario de xisto.

Passámos pela Pampilhosa da Serra, Arganil e Góis — território muito querido dos motociclistas nacionais — antes de percorrer um troço da mítica 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟮, uma das estradas nacionais mais extensas da Europa.

Encerrámos o nosso último dia de estrada a chegar à animada capital: 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗮! 🏍️🇵🇹
