Today I’m speechless as World Surf League announced the nominees of WSL Big Wave awards 2019. I’m not quite sure what was the reason for this - my entry being lost, Internal politics of the organization, or overall geopolitical panopticon, but apparently sanctions on Russia have made their way into the sport.

A bit over 3 years ago I made it to Nazare, with 0 experience, with determination and 300eur in my pocket. I worked hard these 3 years, I put down hundreds of hours driving out there, I whipping many in the waves of their lives and rescuing people I don’t know, sacrificing my gear, ski, health and resources. I was trying to become a part of this community, to serve it the best I can and WSL couldn’t care less.

With all respect to the athletes, who push this sport beyond any limits, with admiration to the legends, who inspired me, today I lost my trust in this so-called “sport”, my dream as an athlete just burst in flames, and I have not much left but disappointment. From now on my only awards are the screams and laughter of beloved friends and those to share my passion and joy of being out there.

P.s. Congratulations to Tom Butler (on the right) for his future win on the WSL XXL Biggest Wave 2019 nomination.... unless it gets even more ridiculous..

Эт вам не очередная "WSL Biggest Wave»😉 Мне кажется что это - еще один маленький шажок для русского серфера и такой же маленький, но шажище русского серфинга... Меня тут уже пытались в инсте подколоть, что я на национальную привязанность ссылаюсь... Да, ссылаюсь, потому что, по-моему, это очень даже неплохо, для кучки мечтателей постсоветского режима, которые только лишь 10 и лет назад позабивали болты и в трусах да шлепках улетели за той мечтой...
Хочется сказать отдельное спасибо моему пилоту и другу Toby Cunningham, который исправно дарит мне самые крутые волны в жизни, и всегда рядом, спасая мой зад из любой передряги)
Компаниям Связной Трэвел и Forum Customs broker, которые верили в нас с самого начала.
А также РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ СЕРФИНГА, Federação Portuguesa de Surf, Sony Russia, QuiksilverRussia и лично Pedro Pisco за поддержку моих дурных идей).

I don’t fly wingsuits often, but when I do I take Squirrel off a cliff in Norway..... Actually I haven’t flown wingsuit a single time in 5 years, I haven’t flown Squirrel ever, just figured f**k all, and practically I was correct, but hey you’re a smart kid, right? You understand I’m only telling how freaking amazing this suit is and how dumb I am, and keep in mind I was flying before you decided you wanna be like those guys on YouTube..
But to be serious, i was blown away how good is this suit designed and built, how easy is it to fly full speed and power, how simple it was to just plug&play after flying only Vampires since the last 12 years.
To be completely honest i did have a problem with the pull, even though i practiced it about 300 times on the ground. Personaly i believe the deal was the sizing - the suit is made for a bit shorter person with far less apefactor than me, so my arm was getting stuck and i did`n have a good reach to the BOC unless i slightly bend my knees. Hands down, its re****ed to test any wingsuit in the mountains, hope everyone reading this have will make better decisions in life than me :P.>>

Few weeks ago I was honoured to join Thierry Donard on his new adventure, paving the road for russian surfing into the magical lands of French Polynesia. Way too many happenings, emotions and discoveries and way too many pictures, but I`ll try to lift up the curtain and catch up for these weeks of silience.

В этом году я имею честь работать с легендарным проектом Nuit de la Glisse Films - одним из старейших в области экстремальной документалистики. Человеку, который основал его более 30 лет назад - Thierry Donard, мы все обязаны огромным количеством сумасшедших кадров, на которых выросли, даже не подозревая этого. Про него я напишу как-нибудь отдельно, а пока можно поподглядывать в кино прошлого года.
Кстати, мы тут думаем устроить в этом году премьеру в Москве, что думаете, пойдете?...

We had few epic days of filming in Georgia this April. A week after surgery, all stitched up like a doll, 3 days since i could walk, i just couldn't say no to this adventure, and really stoked i didn't. Proud to be a part of this crew... even though we all go to hell for it)

in 2016 started a new chapter of my life called Highlining. It came with an idea of setting a line in Nazaré over the biggest waves on Planet, what became one of the most sought after highlining projects of 2017. Nowdays I stare up-high again, drawing imaginary lines, those that i can fly down with my suits and those i can walk on a piece of narrow rope.
