Something new is growing at Porto Places 🌿

For years I've been sharing Porto with curious travelers through walking tours, hidden viewpoints, local stories and unexpected conversations.

But many of you know that my love for Portugal goes far beyond the city.

Over the last 11 years, I've spent countless weekends hiking, cycling, swimming in hidden rivers, exploring villages, vineyards and places most visitors never discover.

Those experiences have shaped my life here — and now they're becoming part of Porto Places.

Some changes in Portugal.

Mainland Portugal will return to a state of calamity from 1 December due to the increase in cases of Covid-19, with new measures to come into force.

date as far back as the 13th century, when the Moors invaded the land that now belongs to Spain and Portugal, but they secured their foothold in Portuguese culture between the 16th and 17th centuries. The word azulejo stems from Arabic roots, meaning ‘small polished stone’. Originally they were fairly simple structures cut into geometric shapes in neutral tones.
Initially tiles were used on in the interior but later was also applied in the facades. It protects the building from the rain and preserves the facades esthetical qualities with very low maintenance costs. This is one of the modern tiles used in contemporary architecture.
