Porto has been full of energy lately—packed with summer crowds, music events, and sports everywhere. But early this morning, before the city woke up, we had the streets almost to ourselves.

🇳🇱Iris joined guide Paulo for an early running tour, catching the sunrise over a quiet, peaceful Porto. The best way to see the city in a whole new light.

Thank you Iris for your preference!

Rising with the sun and hitting the pavement in Porto! 🌅👟
Shoutout to David and Emily from Boston, who joined us for a 7:00 AM running tour this morning. We explored the city streets at dawn before the crowds arrived.
Along the way, we covered both miles and history, talking about Porto’s past and the legacy of Portuguese runner Rosa Mota. Running through a city is always a great way to experience it.
Thanks for joining the tour, David and Emily! Safe travels back to Boston. 🇵🇹🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

This Sunday we had the absolute pleasure of running with Itzel, a fierce runner from the US with proud Mexican roots. She took on our challenging 15km route—a distance that truly isn’t for everyone—to explore the history and origins of Portus Cale alongside our guide, Sergio.

With that kind of determination, we already know she’s going to absolutely dominate her upcoming half marathon. Thanks for bringing your amazing energy to Porto, Itzel!

Gerald works in the shipping industry over in Ireland, and honestly, he couldn’t have picked a better place for a run

If there’s one thing the Douro River knows, it’s boats. We got to show Gerald our iconic Rabelo boats, the historic workhorses that used to transport Port wine down the river. We also ran past Miragaia, which back in the 15th and 16th centuries was a bustling shipbuilding hub where many of the Portuguese Age of Discovery caravels were actually built.

So, while Gerald deals with modern shipping, we gave him a taste of how we did things a few centuries ago. Safe travels back to Ireland, Gerald! Keep riding the waves and crushing those kms! 🇮🇪🤝🇵🇹 🏃

Huge shoutout to Dirk for trading the hotel gym for the steep, cobblestoned “stairmaster” that is Porto’s historic center! He was warming up to the X match

Our guide Paulo led the way, proving that the best way to see the Ribeira is at a 5:00 pace—even if the views make you want to stop and stare. Thanks for running with us, Dirk! You handled those hills like a local.

We’re hitting the streets of Porto with the ultimate (and slightly dysfunctional) Olympian squad to see if you have what it takes to keep up with the gods. 🏛️🏃‍♂️
The “duties” are split exactly how you’d expect: Mercury is our aggressive pace-setter who thinks everyone has winged sandals, while Bacchus views every wine cellar as a mandatory “hydration station.” Luckily, Methis is on hand to provide the wisdom—or the cunning—needed to trick your legs into conquering Porto’s hills without a lightning-bolt-sized tantrum.
It’s 7km of hidden myths, stunning facades, and legendary lore. Book the Bacchus and Friends tour at the link below to decide which deity you’ll be blaming for your post-run soreness. Just try not to let Mercury see you checking your watch!

Forget about the barcode and those park loops. In Porto, your run comes with views of the douro river and crossings over the Luís I bridge, all at your own pace, on Saturday or whichever day you prefer. Parkrun hasn't made its debut yet, but we have something even better!😜😉

We pick you up at your hotel so you don't have to wander the city in short-shorts looking lost. We stop for photos, share the city's history, and at the end, we’ll even take you to the best coffee spot (because nobody deserves a tourist trap). It’s like running with a local friend who knows all the shortcuts.
