PORTUGAL MAKES HISTORY WITH FIRST PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS EVENT

PGA TOUR Champions is officially coming to Portugal! In partnership with Arrow Global Group, Turismo de Portugal, Turismo do Algarve, and golf legend Ernie Els, the Portugal Invitational will be held in July 2026 at The Els Club Vilamoura.

This will be the first-ever individual stroke play PGA TOUR Champions event on Portuguese soil, featuring 78 legends, a $3M purse, and unforgettable action between the ISPS HANDA Senior Open and the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.

PORTUGAL SENIOR TEAM MAKES HISTORY AT ESGA 2025

Portugal wrapped up its journey at ESGA (European Senior Golf Association) 2025 Super Seniors & Masters Team Championship with pride and purpose, finishing as runners-up in the Super Seniors Net Team Cup—just three points behind hosts Denmark.

Over three days and three courses in Aarhus (Lyngbygaard Golf Club, Stensballegaard Golf Club and Mollerup Golf Club), the Portuguese teams delivered unity, skill, and competitive excellence. Highlights included stellar rounds from Joaquim Pires and Anastácio Mendes, and the emotional celebration of Valdemar Carvalho's 80th birthday.

With additional strong showings in the Gross and Masters competitions, Portugal proved once again that golf has no age limits—just passion and precision. Congratulations!
