16,000 steps later… here are a few things that caught our attention at Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2026.

After spending a full day walking through the world’s biggest camper show, we came away with some interesting observations.

More and more manufacturers are moving towards shared platforms and more standardised builds. You can see the pressure to keep new campers affordable, but also where that starts to show in the details and finishes.

VW didn’t have much that felt genuinely new to us, although the new electric ID. Buzz California was certainly interesting.

And then there was the new off-road hall…

Huge 4x4 expedition vehicles, massive tyres, winches and enough equipment to survive just about anything. Completely over the top? Probably. But we have to admit, Loyd loved it.

Our biggest takeaway? The industry seems to be moving in two very different directions: more standardised and cost-conscious on one side, and more extreme and adventure-focused on the other.

The best road trips don't just leave you with great memories, they leave the places you visit just as beautiful for the next traveller 🌿

For us, responsible travel means taking your time, supporting local cafés and small businesses, respecting nature, and leaving every campsite and beach exactly as you found it.

The little choices matter. Refill your water bottle instead of buying plastic. Stay on marked trails. Shop local. Pick up any litter you see, even if it isn't yours.

Vanlife gives us the freedom to explore incredible places. It also gives us the responsibility to help protect them.
