Here is a billboard next to the old Grandella Warehouses, one of the last to survive...

It was on August 25, 1988 that these famous warehouses suffered a terrible fire. I was eight years old at the time. The smoke was immense and the sound of sirens echoed throughout the city. The Grandella department store and the Perfumaria da Moda were destroyed. These two places will remain forever in our memory because it was there that "The Tyrant Father" was filmed. It was in this film that a simple man loved his Tatão, and constantly repeated "Tatão, oohhh Tatão, I love Tatão...".
It was the architect Siza Vieira who rebuilt it, keeping the original façades.

Aqui está um painel publicitário junto aos antigos Armazéns Grandella, um dos últimos que sobreviveu...

Foi a 25 de agosto de 1988 que estes famosos armazéns sofreram um terrível incêndio. Tinha na altura 8 anos. O fumo era imenso e o som das sirenes ecoava por toda a cidade. Os Armazéns Grandella e a Perfumaria da Moda ficaram destruídos. Estes dois locais ficaram para sempre na nossa memória pois foi ali que foi filmado "O Pai Tirano". Era neste filme que um simples homem amava a sua Tatão, e repetia constantemente "Tatão, ai Tatão, eu gosto é da Tatão...".
Foi o arquiteto Siza Vieira que reconstruiu mantendo as suas fachadas originais.
