I discovered this wonderful tour through a recommendation from the hotel where I was staying during my time in Porto, and what a memorable day it was!
Sometimes, it’s only after an incredible experience comes to an end and we return home that we realize just how special it was. This was one of those days.
From our wonderful guide, Pedro, to every landscape along the way, the Douro Valley is majestic and breathtaking in its own right. But this experience brought a level of warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail that far exceeded our expectations.
Homemade traditional desserts and sweets, Port w**e and w**e tasting, a delicious lunch at a small w**ery — “Quintinha” — a beautiful property, and attentive, humble service that made us feel truly special and valued — not simply like tourists checking items off a list.
The people we met along the way, from the boat trip to the visit to Quinta Seara d’Ordens, and the incredible history woven into every step of the day, will remain forever in my heart. I only hope it continues to be one of those memories I can vividly look back on for years to come.
