Bubulcus & Bolotas

Bubulcus & Bolotas Bubulcus & Bolotas is nature tourism strongly founded on sustainability (RNET 5188) We believe in nature and we believe in sustainability.

We like to offer people the possibility to experience nature with all of their senses. For that we made a camping site with spacious places and with a comfortable holiday home, in the middle of nature. For that we made sure to leave nature as untouched as possible. We also try to be as sustainable as possible. Warm water and electricity are powered by the sun. We pump up and purify our own water.

Obviously, we separate waste streams. We made buildings with high thermal insulation, with expanded cork façades visually merging into the landscape, built on rock for minimal impact on the soil. And we try to share our thoughts with others. That is also, what we will do on FaceBook.

We're Leaving Facebook and Instagram — Here's Why

As part of our commitment to transparency, integrity, and care for the world we live in, we’ve made the decision to step away from Facebook and Instagram.
This isn’t an easy decision. These platforms helped us connect with many of you, share our ideas and values. But continuing to use them comes at a cost, one that we do not want to pay.

Why We're Leaving:
1. Privacy
We believe that personal data should be respected, not exploited. Facebook's track record with data privacy is fundamentally at odds with the respect we want to show our guests and supporters.
2. Ethics
We strive to support systems and technologies that align with our values: transparency, accountability, sustainability and respect for all beings. Facebook and Instagram contribute to misinformation, harm public discourse, and encourage addictive use.
3. Social and Environmental Impact
The business of keeping users hooked harms mental well-being and real connection. As nature-focused and sustainability-driven, we can no longer support platforms that contribute to social division, alienation and environmental damage through heavy data use and advertising.

What’s Next:
We’re not disappearing — just choosing a different path.

We’re excited to build stronger, more meaningful connections in spaces that honor privacy, community, and sustainability. Thank you for being on this journey with us. Let’s keep in touch, just in healthier, more intentional ways.

Wishing you all the best!
With gratitude,
Tânia and Waldemar

Thinking our relation to the environment...
Every meal counts!
Today, the environmental costs of our carnivorous habits are spiraling out of control, putting the future of our life on Earth at risk. Choosing more plant-based meals could dramatically reduce the impact. Check out our breakfast menus (https://www.bbcamping.eu/breakfast/) for inspiration!

Look up to the sky…
Goodbye, Orion Nebula! As the nights grow warmer, this cosmic nursery slips lower in the sky, soon to vanish from our view. A stellar birthplace, the Nebula is a stunning cloud of gas and dust, where new stars and planetary systems come to life. (Only!) 1344 light-years away from Earth, its brightness and size make it visible to the naked eye in the night sky. See you again in autumn.

Portugala inchoata, a rare land snail native to the western Iberian Peninsula, found in Portugal and Galicia. After this year’s generous rains, snails are thriving, reminding us how essential moisture is for their survival. In many cultures, snails symbolize patience, resilience, and harmony with nature; values we need now more than ever.
In a fast world, they remind us to slow down, tread lightly, and live with care.

Happy Easter! As Easter is here, it's intriguing to note that hares have long been associated with this holiday. Hares symbolize fertility and renewal due to their rapid reproduction and association with springtime. Therefore, meet the Iberian hare (Lepus granatensis). Native to the Iberian Peninsula, they thrive in diverse habitats, from scrublands to mountains, playing a vital role in the ecosystem as herbivores, influencing plant growth and biodiversity.

Look up to the sky...

"The Silver Sliver Galaxy" (NGC 891) is a spiral galaxy in Andromeda, visible best in autumn and winter. Seen edge-on, it features a prominent dust lane across its disk, presenting a slender profile in telescopes. Located 30 million light-years away, it has an estimated diameter of about 100,000 light-years. This makes it similar in size to our own Milky Way galaxy!

Look up to the sky...
And see, glimmering like a cosmic rose the heart of the Rosette Nebula (NGC 2244). It is more than just a beautiful spectacle—it’s a stellar nursery where young, massive stars shape their surroundings. Powerful winds and intense ultraviolet radiation carve out the nebula’s intricate structures. These stellar newborns, only a few million years old, clear out their birthplace while triggering new star formation in denser regions. This dynamic dance of creation and destruction is a vivid reminder of the universe’s ongoing cycle of star birth.
