People often tell us the mask-making experience was one of their favorite moments in Paraguay.

It's not because they created a perfect mask. In fact, most don't.

What makes the experience special is slowing down for a few hours, leaving the city behind, and spending time in the countryside with one of Paraguay's master mask-makers and his family. You sit in the shade of the trees, hear stories about local folklore, share laughter, and try your hand at a craft that has been passed down through generations.

The finished mask becomes a souvenir. The real memory is the experience itself—the conversation, the hospitality, and the opportunity to connect with people and traditions that most travelers never get to see.

Sometimes travel isn't about seeing more. It's about being present where you are.
