Some groups stay with you long after the tour ends… and this was definitely one of them 💫

33 family members, one journey across Portugal, and countless unforgettable moments along the way.

From the magical palaces of Sintra to the historic streets of Lisbon, Porto and Évora with some wine tastings in the Douro Valley, cork and olive oil experiences in the Alentejo, or even some fun experiences like tile painting and tuk tuk rides — this trip had it all! It was the perfect mix of culture, history, gastronomy, traditions and fun. They also shared incredible meals and embraced every part of the Portuguese experience with genuine curiosity and enthusiasm ✨

But what made this trip truly special for us was something else: all three of us were involved on the preparation of this trip and all the 3 of us had the privilege of guiding them throughout their journey! And seeing this family connect with our country and with each other reminded us exactly why we love what we do ❤️

Of course, there were some stressful moments, things that people don’t see, like all the planning, coordination, schedule changes, logistics — all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making a trip like this run smoothly. But trust us, all of those stressful moments were worth it when we saw their happy faces and especially when we got to read the words they wrote us - go all the way to the last picture! 🤩

To this amazing family: thank you for your trust, your energy and for allowing us to share Portugal with you. It was an absolute pleasure being part of your adventure ❤️

🌸 Spring has finally arrived, and Sintra is looking more magical than ever!

As nature awakens, Sintra bursts into colour, with gardens in full bloom and fresh scents filling the air. It’s the perfect time to wander through its romantic parks and lush landscapes!

Of course, the iconic palaces are always worth a visit, but during Spring, it’s the gardens that truly steal the show - vibrant flowers, peaceful green spaces and little water pathways just call you to slow down and enjoy its beauty.

With Easter holidays just around the corner, will Sintra Natural Park be on your list to explore?! 🌿

✨March 8th | International Women's Day✨

Today we want to talk to you about Sarah Afonso (1899–1983) — a Portuguese painter, illustrator, and modernist.

She grew up in Viana do Castelo (northern Portugal), and it was this land that shaped her creative soul. She studied at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, where she was a student of Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, and left for Paris in 1924, where she exhibited at the Salon d'Automne with great success.

Her gaze was ethnographic and profoundly human — she was drawn to rural life, the rituals of fishermen, the festivals and weddings of Minho, and the world of women and children.

Her works have vibrant colors, a seemingly naive but technically precise language, where the popular and the erudite merge with a rare beauty.

She illustrated children's literature books, including the illustrations for the first edition of *A Menina do Mar* by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen.

She was forgotten for decades. It was only in 2019 that her work was once again widely recognized, with exhibitions at the and .oficial

📌Today, there is a street in Lisbon named after her. One. And that says a lot.

In Lisbon, only 5% of streets are named after women, compared to 44% named after men. Among those few female names, most are saints and queens—rarely women who created, thought, and transformed the world.

When we walk through the city, we are reading a story, so we believe it is necessary to acknowledge that for centuries women have created, resisted, and existed, and they also deserve to be honored.

How are you going to honor the women in your life today? 😉

12 months, 12 activities to enjoy Lisbon and its surroundings, discover its history and culture, and unleash your creativity!
Let's go?

• January – Cold days call for getting your hands to warm up. How about starting the year with a custard tart workshop at .pt ?!

• February – It's time for the most beautiful event of the year at Pena Park and Palace - the Camellia Festival! And without the usual crowds!

• March – Spring begins to sing, visit the newly opened Museum of Music in Mafra

• April – It's the historic month of Revolutionary Lisbon, don't miss a visit to the Aljube Museum

• May – Good weather invites creativity: how about an outdoor tile workshop with .me.more?

• June – Long days and incredible sunsets on a walk along the Guincho coast, Cabo da Roca and Ursa Beach

• July – The light of this month and the summer holidays lead us to suggest a different activity - a photography workshop through the soul of Lisbon!

August – Time to leave the city and discover the wines of Quinta Monte D'oiro

• September – Start slowly again, with birdwatching in the Tagus Estuary (Alcochete/Samouco).

• October – The shorter, cooler days call us to enjoy the last rays of sunshine! Shall we go further south to Cabo de Espichel?

• November – A different invitation: in the month of All Saints' Day, a guided tour of a Lisbon cemetery, full of history.

• December – Month of lights: walk along Baixa and go up the Augusta Arch ✨

🇬🇧

👑Do you know the Royal Estate of Caxias?!

This (almost) hidden gem was once a royal residence, built in the 18th century for the Portuguese royal family!

In Caxias, right next to the train station, you’ll find the former Royal Estate, mainly used as a holiday retreat. It stands out for its beautiful formal gardens, ornamental lakes filled with statues, and its direct connection to the Tagus River — perfectly reflecting the taste and lifestyle of that period.

Throughout the centuries, it witnessed important moments in Portuguese history and today it’s a great example of the lesser-known heritage around Lisbon.

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot, full of history and ideal for a visit away from the typical tourist routes, the Royal Estate of Caxias is the perfect stop — and it’s free! A great suggestion for your next weekend 😊

🌿 Did you know that Portugal produces more than half of the world's cork?

During our tour of Évora, you can choose to include a visit to a traditional cork factory!

Here are some interesting facts you'll learn during the experience:

🔸 Cork comes from the cork oak, a tree that lives an average of 200 years!
🔸 The cork extraction process is 100% sustainable – the tree isn't cut down; only the outer bark is removed every 9 years, allowing it to regrow.
🔸 The first extraction takes place after the tree is 25 years old.
🔸 Cork isn't just used for stoppers; it's also used in fashion, design, construction, surfboards, jewelry, umbrellas, etc.

Come with us to discover this sustainable and historic tradition in the heart of the Alentejo 💛
