Our philosophy is to educate the whole person; we want the children to enjoy their learning and we have high expectations for their academic, creative and social progress. Team spirit is very much part of the ethos here and there is high expectations of all staff, students and parents to work cooperatively, to make a posi

tive contribution to the life of the school and to give their best. There is a focused commitment on “Teaching and Learning”, which includes, staff, families and the community and we are proud of what we do. There is an emphasis on mutual support through which we develop our shared professionalism. We are reflective and adaptive in our practice. This is a safe place to make mistakes – making mistakes is a good way to learn! We are happy to try out new ideas, because we want to ensure that every child succeeds. As eager as we want to teach the students, we should be equally eager to learn. Although we are proud of our strengths, we are paying close attention to our weaknesses to ensure that we work together to improve these areas. We have seen much growth in the school from 2012 to date and the increase in numbers has given us validation that although we still have areas to improve, we are doing a good job in the community and parents are happy to be a part of the Edison family. We look forward to building a great relationship with all students and parents. We are committed to preparing all students to become lifelong learners contributing to a global community. We hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and we hope to install a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling. So much happens in an academic year. It is extremely important the keep in mind that each child will progress at his or her own rate, acquiring skills as he or she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always maintain a priority at Edison International Academy.

Originally from Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, Mr. Brad holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Nelson Mandela University.

With eight years of international teaching experience in China, he brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to our school community. He is excited to embrace a new environment, experience a new culture, and begin this exciting chapter with Edison.

Originally from South Africa, Ms. Amber holds a Bachelor of Education degree specialising in Languages and Mathematics.

With extensive teaching experience working with learners of different ages and cultural backgrounds, she is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that encourage learners to grow both academically and personally. Beyond the classroom, she enjoys exploring new places and learning about different cultures.

Ms. Amber is excited to begin this new journey at Edison, meet her learners, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to our vibrant school community.

Just one week ago, our Year 6 students took their final walk through the school and attended their last assembly as primary students.

It was a moment filled with smiles, memories, pride, and a few tears as we celebrated how far they had come. From their first days in primary school to their final farewell, they have left a lasting mark on our school community.
