How many others started Parkour after watching Yamakazi?
Zaher and Hicham; Team Adrenaline.
"I first started jumping around when I watched the movie Yamakasi back in 2001. This movie was such an inspiration that I decided to dig deeper into this sport, this lifestyle. During college, I met Hicham, a great gymnast with big dreams, and that’s when it started to get real. We started teaching each other what tricks we know, travelling around for training camps to participate in and compete in championships. We grew fond of it, so much that we wanted to share it with others.
In 2011, we started giving classes in a very small room, but it never stopped us from trying to build our Freerunning Empire. We had a lot of people criticizing us, being sarcastic when talking about the idea but it didn’t stop us from pushing our athletes to the next level. Ziad Ziadeh was someone who greatly believed in us, he saw our determination, our strong will and was an important part of making our dream come true.
In 2014, with a lot of hard work and dedication, we managed to build the Adrenaline Academy in a 500m2 area space. Our team started growing and expanding. We currently have Freerunners, Gymnasts, Crossfitters and Dancers all very dedicated, and who decided to belong to this Family.
The Freerunning World is well established and we hope for Team Adrenaline to represent Lebanon someday in order to show the world that we have strong athletes too."
