DTM Road Show in Bucharest was an incredible success!

I have a big love for Eastern Europe and very much enjoyed meeting with some of the best names in travel hospitality to form new connections and learn more about this beautiful part of the world that still not many Americans are traveling to (in fact JLJ Travel was the only travel design agency from the US!)

I also took advantage of my time, and added on two extra days to take the train into Romania's Transylvania region to spend time in the charming city of Brașov and see the legendary Bran Castle.

If one person is envisioning leisurely mornings with breakfast in bed, but the other is expecting early starts to beat the crowds at the famous sights, you’re on the fast track to fighting during your trip.

Have that conversation with your travel partner(s) in advance so expectations are clear.

And yes! you can absolutely have a trip that balances both. That’s where planning ahead really pays off.

What Santorini dreams are made of 🇬🇷

I could wake up to this view from our room at every day, that's for sure!

Here are my honest thoughts 👇

-booking a room with a lounge area outside like this one is 100% worth it. Having breakfast in the morning on the balcony was absolutely divine.

-Astra Suites is located in Imergovigli, which is a great place to base yourself away from the often unbearable crowds of Fira or Oia.

-Definitely take time to dine at the on-site restaurant. While local tavernas are typically my favorite for dinner, it's hard to beat this view for a nice dinner.

Okay this was seriously such a fun stay!

La Morada Lodge (.valledeuco) is surrounded by vineyards located out in the Valle de Uco wine region of Argentina.

Here's my personal thoughts on the stay 👇

- Immediately passing vineyards on your walk to breakfast is the BEST if you're a wine lover like me. The Andes mountains in the background aren't bad either

- Understandably, the wine selection is incredible and the staff is very knowledgeable, so you'll learn a lot about the local producers

- The on-site dining is top notch

- It's a great place for wine-focused, relaxation trips but it's extremely remote, so don't plan on daily city exploration or a multitude of other restaurant options

- The lodges are cozy but spacious with full kitchens

- The private pools or hot tubs are definitely a nice touch
