Crossing Transalpina, the highest road of the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania-Romania, Europe
Tour details:

About Transylvania

Transylvania is often called "the land of Dracula" and is situated in the center part of Romania. Riding on a horse back in Transylvania fields you will discover traditional villages, beautiful landscapes and also the traditional gastronomy. Transylvania is a natural bastion of ancient forests and mountains with natural protected areas.
When you will arrive in Transylvania, you will feel like the time stands still. Our equestrian trails take us through the Carpathian’s Garden protected by the mountains and surrounding valleys. In Transylvania there is a close connection between nature and the native people and spending time here it’s a true immersion into the local culture and much more!
Itinerary: Ranch – Parcul Natural Cindrel – Șugag – Jina – Poiana Sibiului – Tălmaciu – Ranch
The route takes us through the traditional villages of Transylvania, and the last part will be on the King's Road – Transalpina, the highest road of the Carpathian Mountains.
Day 1. Transfer from the airport / railway station to ranch.
On the first day you arrive at the boarding house - ranch and in the evening at dinner we will discuss details of the route and what rules you have to follow (with the tour leader).
Day 2. Breakfast. After breakfast, the horses will be assigned to each rider to accommodate with the new partner. We'll be leaving around 9:00 in the morning towards Cindrel Natural Park. On our way we will stop to take lunch and rest (as well our partners the horses). We'll keep going about 40 km until we camp. At dinner we will tell stories and taste traditional dishes made on the pot. 🍲
Day 3. Breakfast, then continue our journey towards the Sugag village. We will make a short stop on our way to take lunch and enjoy the landscapes the Natural Park offers us. In the evening we gather around the fire camp and take the dinner. 🏔️
Day 4. Breakfast. We leave for Tau Bistra, where we will cross a section about 33 km length of a unique road in Europe, called the King's Road. Here too, we'll take a break to serve lunch. We continue our way to Jina where we will camp. In the evening we will serve stew at the pot and relax by the camp fire.
Day 5. Breakfast and next will continue our adventure through Poiana Sibiului. Here we will take a break to serve lunch, and then we will go to Sibiel where we will camp, passing through the heart of Transylvania. In the evening dinner, stories and rest.🥪
Day 6. Breakfast. We leave Sibiel and we go to Orlat, where you will see the oldest evangelical church. Here we will also take lunch. After lunch we head to Sadu, where we will camp. Dinner in the evening.
Day 7. Breakfast and then we head towards Avrig, back to the farm, passing through Talmaciu. 🐎🐎🐎On the way we stop to take lunch. We ride about 45 km and then we arrive at the ranch. In the evening we serve a special dinner and we will rest.
Day 8. Breakfast and then we will say goodbye to the horses, your new friends from Romania and then we prepare to go to the airport / railway station.
