🧄🌖 Saint Andrew’s Day is one of most importance for the Romanian People, and for the Christians as well, in which Saint Andrew is presented as being one of the first apostles of Jesus. Saint Andrew was proclaimed the “Protector of Romania”.
Saint Andrew’s Day marks the beginning of winter and according to popular belief, is the moment in which dark and maleficent forces unleash upon Earth, represented by werewolves and vampires. This night (29th-30th November) is one strongly marked by sacred, supernatural and mystical manifestations, whom bring devastating effects upon the ones who do not strictly obey to popular customs and rituals, reasons for which St. Andrew’s night can be easily assimilated to the more occidental Halloween legend..
To counter the effects of these unrestful spirits, various rituals are fulfilled, involving salt, poppy, h**p, basil, incense and, of course, a lot of garlic. “The guarding of the garlic” is an ancient ritual that takes place at night, where young people party, having in the center of the table a few cloves of garlic

💫 🌸 The Universal Day of Romanian and Moldavian Blouse is celebrated every year on 24th of June.

It promotes the symbol of our country tradition represented by the feminine shirt with impressive embroidery.
The day of June 24 brings to the public’s attention the central part of the folk costume, named “IA” or traditional blouse. Cut from a single piece of linen, h**p, cotton, or silk, the Romanian blouse was adorned with beads, sequins, gold thread, or stitching representing stylized, geometric, or nature-inspired shapes. Through the chromatic harmony, the complexity of the seams, and the fineness of the materials, it is a very appreciated clothing piece beyond the borders of the country.
Over time, our traditional blouse fascinated painters, photographers, designers and people from the country and abroad. Princess Ileana, Princess Elena, Queen Mary are among the royal personalities who proudly wore the Romanian traditional costume. Her Majesty Queen Mary (Queen of Romania, Princess of Edinburgh, Saxe - Coburg and Gotha) has transformed it into a personal fashion style.

Come to discover with us the traditions of these countries!
