💐Happy 1st Day of Spring!💐

Romania celebrates today with a ‘Martisor’ a symbol always adorned with a red and white string, which is meant to bring a happy and prosperous year to the person who wears it.

At the Romanian Peasant Museum, there is a ‘Martisor’ fair every year, where local craftsmen showcase their skill and art in making unique objects, perfect to be offered to family and friends.

❄️Winter Traditions in Romania ❄️

This past Winter, one of our tourists traveled to the East part of Romania, in Moldova to witness some of our most loved Winter traditions, the Bear Dance.

Here’s the final result 📷 as seen through the eyes of Erik Peterson, Photographer.

Passed down through generations, this wild display of energy, music and folklore is an experience that should be witnessed at least once in a lifetime. Year after year, thousands of people gather to watch them and we couldn’t imagine Christmas celebrations without it.

Fan of the Wednesday (Addams Family) Netflix series?

The castle that hosted Nevermore Academy is on the list of Romania's most haunted places after several visitors have reported spectral appearances in the photos taken at the location. 🏰

The family that owned the building has been one of the most influential in the country for centuries and has a very tumultuous history, with many of its members that died under unexplained circumstances. 😱

🎃 Happy Halloween from Dracula’s Castle! 🎃

Sorry if we ghosted our social media this Summer, but we worked hard to bring better experiences to all of the guests that toured with us this season ❤️

This past Saturday we attended the annual Halloween Party at Bran’s Castle, the first one after the pandemic and needless to say it was EPIC fun!

One of the most mysterious Romanian traditions is happening tonight! (music video in first comment)

"Sânziene" are beautiful and powerful fairies that can bring either prosperity or wrath for those that either respect their sacred day or not. 🧚‍♀️

The Night of Sânziene is based on a pagan celebration around summer solstice, mixed with the Christian nativity of Saint John the Baptist.

Between June 23-24 it is believed that the Heavens open up, making it the strongest night for magic incantations, especially love spells!

Tradition has it that the most beautiful maidens in the village dress in white Romanian blouses, braid flowers in their hair and dance around bonfire looking for their chosen one 💘
