Tonight in Romania, light means more than light.

On the night of the Resurrection, churches and cemeteries fill with candles, silence, prayer, and people standing close to one another. Just before midnight, Orthodox Christians receive the holy light from the priest and pass it from candle to candle, until entire communities are glowing in the dark.
It is one of the most powerful moments of the year.
A moment of faith, but also of memory.

In many places, cemeteries become seas of light, reminding us how strong the connection remains between the living and those who are no longer with us.

If you want to understand Romania beyond landscapes and monuments, this is one of those moments that says everything.

Tomorrow the world celebrates Valentine’s Day — flowers, messages, small gestures, big emotions. Love is everywhere.❤

But in Romania, love has its own story.

We celebrate Dragobete on the 24th of February, a traditional spring festival rooted in folklore. According to legend, Dragobete was the son of Baba Dochia and known as a joyful, charming figure who brought people together. On his day, birds would begin building their nests, nature would slowly awaken, and young couples would meet to declare their feelings.

There is a beautiful Romanian saying:
“Dragobetele sărută fetele”(Dragobete kisses the girls).
It symbolizes not only romance, but the renewal of life, hope and connection.

So whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day, Dragobete, or simply the feeling of being close to someone you care about — may love find you, gently and sincerely.

2026 is the year we go analogue, and Romania is the perfect place to start.

In a world of constant notifications, Romania invites you back to what’s real: roads that reward curiosity, trails that connect communities, cities built to last, villages where time moves gently, and landscapes that still set the rhythm of life.

Here, discovery isn’t curated by algorithms. It’s earned step by step, shared face-to-face, crafted by hand, and felt, not scrolled. Romania doesn’t ask you to disconnect. It simply gives you reasons to look up, slow down, and engage with the world as it is.

If going analogue means choosing presence over speed, then Romania is exactly where 2026 should begin.

This time of year feels a bit like a pause between journeys. A moment to unpack memories, slow down, and enjoy being exactly where you are.

We wish you a Merry Christmas filled with good company, quiet moments, and plans that spark curiosity for the road ahead. May the next journey come at the right time — and feel just as special as the destination.

Warm holiday wishes,
Rolandia Team

🎄 Festive vibes in Transylvania! 🎄

Our shared day trip from Bucharest to the Bear Sanctuary, Bran Castle, and Brașov was full of great energy! Although everyone booked independently, the group ended up being one of the largest we’ve had recently — and Claudia Cloud guided them beautifully through the whole experience.

By the time they reached Brașov, the atmosphere was simply magical: the Christmas market is in full swing, the tree in the main square is shining bright, and the whole city feels like a winter postcard.

✨ Traveling in Romania these days is incredibly festive — perfect for anyone looking to enjoy culture, history, and holiday spirit all at once.

Two landmarks, two faces of Romania’s story.

Both the Palace of the Parliament and the Poenari Citadel are part of our Halloween Tour in Transylvania, revealing the country’s contrasts — from grandeur to mystery.

📍The Palace of the Parliament, a symbol of grandeur and power, will leave you speechless with its monumental scale — it’s the heaviest and second-largest administrative building in the world, with more than 1,000 rooms and chandeliers that weigh as much as cars!

📍Poenari Citadel — the true fortress of Vlad the Impaler — stands high above the Argeș Valley, reached by climbing 1,480 steps through the forest. Hidden deep in the Carpathians, this dramatic stronghold offers a journey through history, legend, and stunning mountain views.

Bucharest has layers — and not all of them are in the guidebooks.
During one of our tours, our guide Claudia Cloud took guests beyond the well-known landmarks, into quiet courtyards, forgotten passages, and corners filled with stories.

Because discovering a city isn’t just about the monuments — it’s about the moments in between.

What was meant to be a countryside picnic by a gothic abbey turned, with the rain, into something even more special.
At Porumbacu 134, we recreated the scene indoors — fine dining meets farm-to-table simplicity, surrounded by warmth, light, and quiet elegance.

Part of a bespoke journey designed for our guests, where every detail — even a change of plans — becomes part of the experience.
