Ever wondered what happens when English idioms “travel” to Romania?

In English, you say “All the glitters is not gold”, which in a word-for-word translation would be “Nu tot sclipiciul este aur.”
👉 Instead, in Romanian, we say “Nu tot ce zboară se mănâncă” (Not everything that flies is edible).

The beauty of languages is that some things just can’t be translated word for word — and that’s exactly what makes them magical.

Driving the stunning Transfăgărășan Highway comes with more than just scenic views — you might also spot a real local: the Carpathian brown bear. Due to habitat overlap and the temptation of food, bears often wander near the roadside — especially in summer months.

If you encounter a bear, here’s how to stay safe (and respectful):
👉 Do not feed the bears! It’s dangerous for both you and the bear.
👉 Stay in your car — always. Admire from a distance.
👉 Keep windows rolled up and drive away slowly if the bear approaches.
👉 Avoid loud noises or sudden movements — they may feel threatened.
👉 Never try to take selfies up close — this is not a petting zoo.
👉 Report bear sightings to the local authorities if needed (especially if a bear seems aggressive or injured).

Drive safely, stay wild — and let’s protect Romania’s wildlife. 🏞️

This summer, we had the joy of planning a 14-day tailor-made honeymoon for Justin and Melissa — an amazing couple who chose to celebrate love by exploring the beauty of Romania.

Their journey took them through Transylvania, Bucovina, and all the way to the Romanian seaside. They were guided by Traian, one of our most experienced and passionate guides, who made sure every day was filled with stories, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
