A hiking trip with 6 beautiful British 🇬🇧 seniors on the rolling hills of Transylvania. I remember that day we visit Biertan Fortified Church, we hike the hills, we took shelter from the rain under a barn with hay, found some local horses, passed a forest, meet some gipsys, get dirt on our trousers, breathe the air and lought a lot. What a inspiring day we had!

🇹🇩 Date of June 26 was chosen in memory of the day when, during the Revolution of 1848, the red-yellow-blue tricolor was adopted as a symbol of the Romanian nation. Thus, it was established that the Tricolor should represent a national style for all Romanians.

Not too long ago, on this very day, we would’ve been out, beating each other up with... flowers. Yes, you read it right. Flowers. People were throwing flowers from balconies, women were parading on the big boulevards of Bucharest in the fanciest gowns, wearing the prettiest colors. And it was all happening because May 10th was Romania’s National Day, the Monarchy Day, the King’s Day. Ever since the proclamation of independence from 1877, people established this wonderful tradition of covering streets with flowers, solely to celebrate their rulers and the arrival of Spring.

If it weren’t for the German occupation of Romania and the communist regime that destroyed our Monarchy, this custom would’ve still happened today. It would’ve taken all the people out on the streets to watch a military parade, then a proud King and Queen riding on the back of a horse, saluting the watchers, admiring all the beauty that Spring was offering - the mesmerizing lilac perfume, the vivid colors of chrysanthemums and carnations.

Doesn’t sound too bad, right? I would’ve adored to see such a wonderful scenery unraveling in front of my eyes.
