Following the receipt of the prestigious "Top-10 Tours of the World" award from TripAdvisor in August this year, we were nominated for the "Best Tours of Moscow - 2021".
The award was founded by the city mayor in order to support travel initiatives, which promote Moscow as a travel destination.
Worth mentioning that we were the first international inbound tourism agency nominated for the award.
The winners will be chosen by open voting of Moscow local citizens.

What is this fairy tale?

It is GUM Department Store situated at the Red Square. Built in 1893 GUM was historically trading rows where goods from all the Russian Empire and foreign merchants were sold.

However, after the revolution of 1917 it was nationalized and the 2nd and 3rd floors were turned into apartments, or, more specifically, into communal living spaces known to every Russian by the name of Kommunalka.

In 1953, as more Moscow more apartment buildings were built and common sense in the heads of the USSR officials started to prevail, GUM resumed its original function. One could purchase the finest goods there even during the deficit in the 1980s-1990s.

Now, GUM is rented by Bosco di Ciliegi Company (till 2059) which sees its mission to preserve the historical appearance of the building and at the same time the atmosphere of the Soviet times. While these years were questionable in many aspects (politics, economy, poverty etc) the cultural heritage these years left us with is astounding.
