Expedition to the Altai Mountains (southwest of Siberia)
The expedition around Altai will take place on a comfortable vehicle (Toyota Land Cruiser or a comfortable minibus, depends on number of travelers).

This tour is an excellent opportunity to discover pristine and remote locations of southwest of Siberia named Altai, it’s a place located in the heart of southwestern of Russia on the joint borders of China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan where we have a chance to discover a huge number of archaeological, historical and natural monuments and landscapes. Altai is place of huge mountains, amazing waterfalls, raging rivers and clear blue lakes, shamans and the spirit of ancient, it’s a mountain country located almost in the center of Asia, and the locals said – Altai is navel of the Earth.
During the trip I will show you almost all the major natural and archaeological areas of the region. Also we will discover a culture and customs of indigenous people of Altai as we are going to get acquainted with nomadic families who live there.
Our travel will start in Moscow, as we take a flight from the capital to Gorno-Altaysk city (around 4 hours to fly), where we will get our excellent car and cool guide who fluently speaks both English and Russian, he will accompany and support us all the expedition time telling us interesting stories about places, sights, locals we will visit. For the nights we gonna stay in comfortable wooden houses with a beautiful scenery on bases of leisure where we can have rest, dinner, etc. (Russian sauna also can be ordered). We will try to combine car trips and short-time hiking to some remote places, where the car will not be able to pass, but of course we are not going to test the strength of our endurance In addition if you would like to make an extreme rafting on the mountain river, we are able to organize it.

Natural sights:
mountain passes – «Katunsky», Chakyrsky, «Gromotuha», «Chike-Taman», «Katu-Yaryk»; rivers: «Katun», «Koksa», «Chua», «Chulyshman», «Biya»; lakes: «Multinskoe lake», «Geyser lake», «Telezkoe lake», «Dead lake»; «Tavdinskie» caves, Altai national reserve, «Karakol» valley, «huge stone mushrooms in the «Chulyshman» valley, waterfall «Korbu».
The natural farm where the locals have their farming activity: horses, sheeps, sarlyks, - so then everyone will be able to feel himself as a shepherd and try to understand how the nature and human are harmonious in these alpine steppe conditions.
Archeological monuments:
Stone figures which have been made by ancients, cave drawings (petroglyphs), ancient burial mounds, holy places.
Ethnography:
Local cuisine, legends, traditions, folk music, shamans, folk wisdom keepers, museums.
