I moved to Sochi some time ago and got based in Olympic Park area. I've seen quite many tourists struggling with basic things like where to stay for a good price, where to eat, where to shop, what Sochi tours to go to, and etc. So I decided to start this page and a blog bestvacationsochi.blogspot.ru to provide support and advice to those of my friends traveling to Sochi for Formula

Yesterday was the final day of Maslenitsa (or Butter Week) in Russia when Orthodox Christians enjoyed the last day of non-fasting food, especially crepes, before the Great Lent which started today, on Clean Monday.
One of the tastiest happenings took place in Sochi Park, where they cooked 170 kg of crepes to treat 1,500 guests. Crepes symbolize sun, so everyone is happy to welcome spring by munching these delicious treats! Get ready for more interesting happenings with !

'She was carrying some of those repulsive yellow flowers. God knows what they're called, but they are somehow always the first to come out in spring. They stood out very sharply against her black dress. She was carrying yellow flowers! It's an ugly colour. She turned off Tverskaya intoa side-street and turned round. You know the Tverskaya, don't you? There must have been a thousand people on it but I swear to you that she saw no one but me. She had a look of suffering and I was struck less by her beauty than by the extraordinary loneliness in her eyes. Obeying that yellow signalI too turned into the side-street and followed her. We walked in silence down that dreary, winding little street without saying a word, she on one side, I on the other. There was not another soul in the street. I was in agony because I felt I had to speak to her and was worried that I might not be able to utter a word, she would disappear and I should never see her again. Then, if you can believe it, she said : " Do you like my flowers? "

Today, November 4th, is the National Unity Day in Russia, and Rosa Khutor Resort prepared a special event to celebrate this public holiday. They are organizing a Mountain Food Festival. Local restaurants, bakeries and farmers will be presenting their specialties and inviting visitors to cooking workshops until November 8th.
