Eland with !

They are primarily found in Akagera National Park along the hillsides and grassy plains. They are shy and often hard to spot, typically found in herds of 25–60 individuals, though they can congregate in larger groups.

Since the reintroduction of lions in 2015, park management has been monitoring the eland population closely. While their numbers decreased slightly, they have shown a healthy, reproducing population with many calves, indicating they are successfully navigating the return of their natural predators.

The eland was previously threatened in Rwanda due to poaching and civil war consequences, but they are now well-protected in Akagera.
