WHY DO MOUNTAIN GORILLAS EAT ANTS?

Yes—mountain gorillas sometimes eat ants and other small insects, even though their diet is mainly made up of vegetation.

✓ Natural behavior: Gorillas are opportunistic feeders. If insects are available while they are feeding or foraging, they may eat them.
