Hijrah Walk from February 2026 - In Her Name Documentary

American Muslim David Noble performed Umrah and joined the Hijrat march at the age of 83 to fulfill his promise to his deceased wife

— Im a relatively new Muslim. Testifying the Word in Abu Dhabi 2007. But I spent the rest of my time taking care of my sick wife

— When my son said he would take me to Umrah and that I could present his deed to my soulmate Sandra, I immediately took this opportunity

— I walked for a while and I finally got out of breath, the car picked me up, I rode long enough to catch my breath, so I could get off and walk again, because that was the whole purpose, you know, to see there

The final steps of the journey.

In this clip we walk into Madinah.

After days in the desert, we changed into our crisp white clothing, fresh and ready to enter the blessed city. Ready to greet the people of Madinah, and most importantly ready to send our salams to our beloved RasulAllah ﷺ.

It was a moment filled with emotion. Joy and gratitude for reaching the end of the journey. Relief after the miles, the climbs and the desert winds. But at the same time there was a quiet sadness settling in. We knew the experience that had brought us so close together was nearing its end.

Soon our Hijrah Hub family would begin to part ways. Everyone returning to their own countries, their own lives, carrying the memories of what we had shared.

But walking into Madinah together is something that will stay with us forever. A moment of arrival. Reflection. And deep love for the Prophet ﷺ whose journey we had spent these days remembering step by step.

A moment I will never forget.

In this clip we reached the Valley of Dhi Salam, one of the valleys the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr RA passed through during the Hijrah in September 622.

There is something about this particular place that feels different. The pathway is incredibly narrow. As you walk through it, there is a quiet certainty in your heart that you are tracing the very footsteps of RasulAllah ﷺ and his beloved companion. Not near them. Not somewhere in the distance. But on the very route itself.

We walked this stretch in silence. No conversations. No distractions. Just reflection. Each step intentional. Each breath heavy with meaning.

When we arrived, Shaykh Walead gave us a beautiful reminder that grounded the moment even further before we continued up the hill. And that climb was no small task. Rocky. Steep. Uneven. It makes you pause and truly consider how physically demanding this journey must have been for the Prophet ﷺ, for Abu Bakr RA, and even for their camels navigating this terrain.

The Hijrah was faith in motion. And standing there, climbing there, you feel a small glimpse of that reality.

Onward from Al Juhfah, deeper into the journey.

In this clip we leave Al Juhfah behind and make our way towards the next camp. The road feels longer now. The desert wider. The reflection deeper.

Along the way we stopped to try Al Burair, a small desert berry it is said the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr RA would eat during their journey to Madinah. Tasting them was an experience in itself. Sour. Slightly sharp. With a heat that lingers.

It was a small moment, but it added another layer of understanding. The Hijrah was not comfort. Not sweetness. It was survival. It was patience. It was making do with what Allah provided in the moment.

Even something as simple as tasting those berries becomes a reminder of the physical struggle our beloved Prophet ﷺ and his companion endured with dignity and trust.
