Egypt plans to build 250,000 new hotel rooms to boost tourism growth
According to CITYSCAPE Egypt 2025 held in Cairo on July 6, plans were announced to construct approximately 250,000 new hotel rooms across the country, aiming to accommodate growing visitor numbers and support infrastructure expansion within the tourism sector  . This comes amid a surge in tourism: Egypt saw a 22% increase in visitor traffic in June 2025 compared to June 2024, and welcomed 8.7 million tourists between January and June—a 24% year‑on‑year rise   .

Saudi Arabia ranks first globally in tourism revenue growth in Q1 2025
Saudi Arabia achieved the highest international tourism revenue growth worldwide during Q1 2025 compared to Q1 2019, with a remarkable 102% increase in international arrivals and a jump in tourism spending to approximately USD 13.6 billion . This performance aligns with the country’s Vision 2030 agenda, which aims to attract up to 70 million visitors by 2030 .

Data released by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism shows Dubai hosted 9.88 million international visitors between January and June 2025, a 6% increase year‑on‑year. Amusement park ride in Taif breaks, injuring 23 visitors; park closed pending safety probe
In Taif, a ride known as the “360 Big Pendulum” at Green Mountain Park snapped in half mid-operation, injuring 23 people, four seriously. Emergency responders treated the victims onsite before transferring them to hospitals. The park has since been closed by the local governor, and a full safety investigation is ongoing.

On 2 August 2025, EgyptAir’s tourism arm Karnak finalized a partnership with Egypt’s Dar al‑Ifta to offer integrated travel services—including flight bookings, airport reception, transport, and Hajj/Umrah logistics—centered around the upcoming “Wise M***i & AI” conference scheduled for 12–13 August. EgyptAir will serve as the official carrier for the institution.
