SCLO to be a post Modern Organisation

SCLO is moving decisively towards becoming a very people centric law firm, this means the practice is converting to become a postmodern – post bureaucratic organisation. The Covid-19 pandemic, the family-wide responsibility of women in Sudanese society, and the recent severe political unrest which has made commuting an often dangerous process, have underlined and informed our decision to tap into and unlock the opportunities of hiring good female lawyers and staff and to accommodate all their needs, by redesigning our culture and work accordingly.
As of 1st December 2022, our staff will be mainly home based. This will see SCLO achieving its aspiration of becoming a more innovative and agile law firm, embracing transformative and productive change, promoting shared values with open boundaries thereby enabling people to come into and out of the organisation in a flexible way including part-time, temporary and consultancy arrangements. Work will no longer be done in fixed hours or at a designated place thanks to technology, making it easier for us to work at the convenience of both our clients and staff. We will retain a physical premises, to facilitate receipt of correspondence and to ensure that meetings in person can take place as required.
With this critical new transformation in place SCLO will be able to serve our clients more effectively and more efficiently and we look forward to sharing the benefits of this innovation with our clients both existing and new.
