Congratulations to Sudan for having two of its national parks inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List this year. Sanganeb Marine National Park and Dungonab Bay - Mukkawar Island Marine National Park in the Red Sea include highly diverse systems of coral reefs and varied coastline that provide a habitat for populations of seabirds, marine mammals, fish, sharks, turtles and manta rays and dugongs. Recognizing the importance of marine conservation and protecting our oceans, U.S. Embassy Khartoum is happy to share a photo/essay contest. For more details, click on http://bit.ly/2atsIE0. Winners will receive an ocean-related prize package and will be invited to the nearest U.S. Embassy to accept their award. Their work may be displayed at the Department of State Our Ocean Conference in Washington, D.C. and U.S. Embassy’s page.
