Sometimes a few quiet days in nature are enough to reset your mind. 🤗

What are your plans for the summer? 🤗

The owl is back at her favorite hunting spot. 🤠

Yesterday we found a dead mouse 🐭 on the windowsill and wondered how it got there.
looked it up and found out that this hawkowl 🦉 ("hökuggla") often stashes its food in dry, sheltered spots when it isn't hungry.
This morning it was gone.
So it could have stored it for a little morning snack 😃

Thinking of building some more owl hunting spots around the house and maybe a owl bird house... 🤔

Ice starts to melt, nature starts to wake up again. 🤗
Yesterday I saw 4 rabbits while talking a walk at night (it's already pretty bright right now)🐰
They 🐰 are still completely white but soon they will change their colour to grey again.

Today I met some moose on the way home. 🫎 🫎🫎

It's a mother and her two calves.
They were just standing still and I saw them first when I was passing them some meters away. 😅

I met them also several times during winter and was hoping that they both will make it. 🙏🏻

Winter was very hard especially in January and februari this year. 🥶
But they did it. 💪🏻💃🏻🕺🏻

Soon they will be kicked away from their mother and need to go their own way, when the new calve is coming (around Mai/June)... 👶🏻

Honestly…
with the current weather here in Lapland (grey, wet, melting snow 😅), I really don’t feel like going outside right now.

So instead, a little flashback to last summer. 🤠🖖🏻

Sun.
Silence.
Endless nature.
And that feeling of being completely out there. 🤩

Who else would rather be here right now? ☀️

Today, under bright sunshine and +10 C, I put up some birdhouses. 🐦🏠They look great, don’t they? 🤩

The birdhouses are handmade, sturdy, and look absolutely beautiful.🤠 They were built by an elderly couple from Arjeplog, who did a great job. 🤗

These houses are specially designed for the black-and-white flycatcher 🐦‍⬛— the best mosquito catcher we have here in Lapland.

This bird is amazing: 💪🏻🦸🏻‍♂️
It can eat up to 2,400–3,200 mosquitoes 🦟and other small insects 🪰per day! 🐦‍⬛

P.S.: It's actually called "svartvit flugsnappare"🐦‍⬛ so no idea if It translated right... 🙈
