As the nights grow longer and the last golden leaves fall over Stockholm’s cobblestones, something begins to stir in the shadows. The air turns crisp, the moon rises early — and we start to crave stories. Real ones. Scary ones. The kind you can wa...

🌟 Customer Story 🌟

Last week I had the pleasure of walking through Stockholm with Emma from Melbourne. 🇦🇺✨
She told me afterwards how much she loved discovering the hidden courtyards and narrow alleys of Gamla Stan – “I’ve been to many old towns in Europe, but this one truly came alive thanks to the stories,” she said. 💬

Moments like this remind me why I guide: it’s about sharing history, but also creating memories and connections across cultures.

Thank you Emma for your kind words – and welcome back anytime! 🙏💚

✨ Hidden gem in Stockholm ✨

Today I guided a group through the Atlas district in Vasastan – a neighborhood that even many locals haven’t discovered yet. And what a surprise it is!

🎶 The legendary singer Alice Babs once lived here, as did beloved author Astrid Lindgren.
🏛️ The area was designed by city planner Per Olof Hallman, famous for his winding streets and striking level differences.
🌳 Some houses even feature wooden shutters, reminding us of nearby Lärkstaden.

Atlas is full of charm, unexpected corners, and stories waiting to be told – proof that Stockholm’s history and culture are not only found in the Old Town.

🌱 “Is that slum?” they asked.
“No,” I smiled — “that’s love for the land.”

A few years ago, an American family told me they had seen slums on their way into Stockholm from the airport. Slums? I realized they meant our allotment gardens.

So I took them to Tantolunden — and showed them a hidden gem: tiny cottages, buzzing bees, blooming roses, and the quiet pride of urban gardeners. 🏡🌸

I told them about Anna Lindhagen and Anna Åbergsson — two visionary women who, over a century ago, brought the idea of allotment gardens to Sweden. Not just for beauty, but for well-being, self-sufficiency, and community.

A little slice of utopia — right here in the city. 💚

🌲 The Woodland Cemetery – A Place of Beauty and Peace 🌲
Even during ongoing restoration work, Skogskyrkogården remains one of the most tranquil and inspiring places in Stockholm.

Designed by Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is more than a cemetery – it’s a masterpiece of landscape architecture, where nature and spirituality blend seamlessly.

Whether you're here for reflection, a quiet walk, or to admire the architecture, the atmosphere is unforgettable.

✨ Beauty persists – even behind scaffolding.
📍 South of Stockholm, easily reached by metro (Skogskyrkogården station - until 10th of August only by bus)
🕊️ Open year-round

🎤🛡️🥐 There is a lot going on behind the scenes for a guide. Right now I am planning a customized tour for a visiting family with three big wishes:
✨ ABBA
✨ Vikings
✨ ...and the best cinnamon buns in town!

Yes, it’s a thing – and yes, it’s totally possible to combine all three in one unforgettable walk through Stockholm.

From dancing queens and rune stones to cozy hidden cafés, this is why I love what I do. Every tour becomes a new story, tailored to curious minds and happy feet.

Looking for something special for your family, team or travel group? I create custom tours in English (or Italian!) that bring the city to life – with heart, humour and history.

📩 DM me or visit stockholmcitywalks.com to get started.
