Meet Karolina & Victor at Rosa Skattlådan, a family farm offering a WWOOF experience with plenty of variety!
Here, you can get hands-on experience with beekeeping, caring for quail, chickens, ducks, and pigs, collecting and packing eggs, and the many everyday tasks that keep a farm running.
There’s plenty to learn, and perhaps a few surprises along the way!

Karolina & Victor take great pride in caring for their animals and producing food of exceptional quality. Their quail and honey have even been served at the Nobel Banquet! 🍯

Life here is also about sharing meals, stories, and experiences. Karolina & Victor look forward to welcoming WWOOFers from around the world into their everyday family life. Their children, Alice and Vidar, are excited to meet international guests and practise their English … and perhaps a little French too?

Set in the peaceful Swedish countryside, with a lake and beautiful forests nearby, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature beyond the daily tasks on the farm.
As Karolina points out, the farm is quite remote, so she recommends sharing the experience with a partner or a friend. 🙌🏼

Reflections from a host 🌱🍅

“We’re so grateful to all the people who choose to come and stay with us, bringing their enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to learn about living close to nature and understanding where our food comes from.
Leaving your everyday life, often in the city, because you feel that something isn’t quite right isn’t necessarily an easy choice.
For us, it’s a gift to be able to share a different way of living. Not because what we do is perfect, but because we believe ordinary people can take things into their own hands and explore other ways of doing things, rather than simply waiting for someone else to make a change.
We’ve met people this year and last year whom we’ll remember with great warmth, and hope to stay in touch with. Several WWOOFers have been in touch again throughout the year, and next summer a family is already planning to return!

If you’re curious about farm life and want to learn more about agriculture, growing food and living closer to nature, we can wholeheartedly recommend WWOOFing.
And you don’t have to travel far. There are farms all over Sweden, and we’d love to see more people try WWOOFing locally, too. 🌻”

This weekend we joined an Agroforestry gathering at Angereds Gård: two days spent meeting an incredibly knowledgeable group of growers and animal keepers, sharing stories, experiences and ideas about sustainable ways of working with the land.

Our aim? Spreading the word about WWOOF! 🌱

We were happy to find out that WWOOF was already well known among many of the people we met, and even more excited to hear that some are considering becoming WWOOF hosts themselves.
Hopefully, that means more of YOU will get the chance to meet, learn from and share experiences with these incredible growers and animal keepers in the future! 🌿

We’re looking forward to seeing where these connections take us!

Curious about island life? Host Clara welcomes WWOOFers from March till October (preferably couples or families and generally aged 30+) for an experience quite out of the ordinary!

She’s looking for people who enjoy practical work, community and learning along the way. Expect everything from gardening and animal care to carpentry, fences and all the little jobs that keep a small organic farm running. And when the workday is done: swimming, kayaking, sauna, walks and the quiet rhythm of island life. 💚

Before confirming, Clara always has a video call with prospective WWOOFers to talk about the farm, the work, island life and expectations, making sure it feels like a good fit for everyone.

At 61, Emmanuelle decided to go WWOOFing and quickly discovered that it’s never too late to try something new. 💚
From helping out on the farm to sharing everyday life with her hosts, she’s found a place where she felt cared for, welcomed, and… younger than before. ✨
Her verdict? 5 stars, no doubt!

Anna and Gerhard moved from Austria to the Swedish countryside in 2018 and have been developing their homestead ever since. They’re working towards a more self-sufficient life, growing vegetables, developing a more biodiverse forest and taking on everything from composting and gardening to woodworking and ecological building.

WWOOFers have their own guest house, with individual bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom and laundry facilities. This means you have your own space and can prepare your own meals when you want to, while also having the opportunity to eat together with Anna and Gerhard and share food and culinary traditions, which is something they really enjoy. 🫶🏼

Every host is different.
Think about what you want from your WWOOF experience, and look for a host who matches that.

Take your time. Read the host profiles as well as the reviews. Ask questions. Find a place where the learning opportunities, lifestyle and people feel right for you.
That’s when WWOOFing can become something really special.

We recently checked in with host Michael, and his message reminded us why we love WWOOF so much:
”I have to say that I am so happy with how the WWOOFing experience has gone for us. It has been so successful in every way. All of our WWOOFers have been so kind, hard-working and a real pleasure to be around... We recently hosted three WWOOFers at the same time for the first time, and it was so much fun to see them interact and do things on their own.” 💚

Michael and Amanda have created a truly unique place where vineyards, music, vegetables, wildflowers, bees and even mushroom cultivation come together. No two days are the same: you might be pruning vines, harvesting honey, planting, painting, or tackling a bit of carpentry, all while music plays for the vines. 🎶

As former chefs, food is a big part of the experience too. Expect home-cooked meals made with fresh ingredients from the vineyard, your own private room, and plenty of time to explore the forests, lakes and hiking trails nearby (or borrow one of their e-bikes for an adventure!). 🚲

After 6 years of van life, Anita and her son put down roots in the Swedish countryside and have BIG plans for the future of their farm and meeting place. 🇸🇪✨
