There are Northern Lights… and then there are nights like this.

Out in the Arctic wilderness, gathered around an open fire, sharing dinner with good people while the sky comes alive above you.

No crowds. No city lights. Just fire, food, wilderness and the Aurora.

This is the kind of experience we created The Raw North for — small groups, wild places and memories you’ll still be talking about years later.

❄️ Bookings are now open.

Come and experience the Arctic with us.

I came for a 5-day holiday. I stayed for life. ❄️

A few years ago, I was a British guy living a sunny life in Malaga, Spain. I decided to take a quick, 5-day vacation to the north of Sweden.
Then, the world changed. COVID-19 hit, lockdowns rolled out, and the airports completely closed.
Suddenly, my 5-day trip turned into an 11-week isolation. But instead of being stuck in a city apartment, I found myself locked down in a traditional Swedish summer house right next to the ocean.

Talk about a plot twist.

While the world was on pause, I was getting a masterclass in the Swedish way of life. Isolated by the sea, I fell completely in love with the culture, the food, and the deep, peaceful connection to nature here.
Once things opened up, I knew I couldn’t just go back to my old life. I needed more of this raw wilderness. I headed further north to Lapland, experienced the magic of mushing a team of huskies, saw the Northern Lights paint the Arctic sky, and my mind was officially made up.
I flew back to Spain, sold everything I owned, and moved permanently to the north of Sweden.
I didn’t just want to live this adventure; I wanted to share it. That’s why I started www.RawNorthAdventures.com

Nothing gives me more joy today than standing in Kiruna with my guests—around an open fire in sub-zero temperatures, watching the Aurora light up the sky, surrounded by a meter of snow—and seeing them experience the exact same magic that made me change my entire life.
If you’re ready to experience the real, raw Arctic (minus the 11-week lockdown!), come join me.

It may still be the season of the Midnight Sun, but it won’t be long before the Arctic skies come alive with the Northern Lights once again.

Bookings for our August Aurora Chases are now open.

Late August is one of the most magical times to experience the aurora. The landscapes still hold the colours of late summer, the lakes remain ice-free for stunning reflections, temperatures are comfortable, and the crowds of winter are still weeks away.

We’ll head out in small groups, chasing clear skies and sharing an authentic Arctic experience—not just a hunt for the lights, but an unforgettable evening in the wilderness.

If you’ve been dreaming of seeing the Northern Lights, now is the time to secure your place.

The Northern Lights don’t care if there’s snow on the ground.

These photos were taken in November, before winter had fully arrived in Swedish Lapland.

In fact, early season Aurora trips often mean darker skies, fewer people, easier access, and surprisingly comfortable temperatures.

Aurora season starts in October, not when the snow arrives.

Every winter, thousands of people see the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Kiruna frozen, glowing, and alive.
Very few ever see this part.

As the Arctic moves into summer, the ice slowly returns to the river it came from. The walls soften, the sculptures fade, and another winter season quietly comes to an end.

It’s a reminder that nothing here is permanent — and maybe that’s what makes it so special.

Now the midnight sun takes over, the snow disappears into the mountains, and the north slows down for summer. Months from now, when the darkness and cold eventually return, the Icehotel will be rebuilt once again from the ice of the Torne River.

The Arctic is always changing. That’s the beauty of it.
