At this site there is more than 100 years experience of the shipbuilding industry.Ships have been built at Varvsudden in Landskrona since 1915. We are also proud to continue the tradition and shipbuilding
activities in the area. The shipyard is strategically located in Oresund, resulting in short deviations for shipping companies operating the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Bothnian Sea. Large production facilities as well as technical and staff resources make us a comprehensive partner for ship repairs, maintenance and rebuilding.

Full ahead at Oresund Drydocks!

It’s a busy scene at Sweden’s largest shipyard, with M/S VISBY in our graving dock, M/S MERCANDIA IV in our floating dock, and several Swedish Coast Guard vessels alongside our south, west and north quays.

Family Day at Oresund Drydocks! 🎉

Yesterday, Oresund Drydocks celebrated our annual Family Day at Skånes Djurpark – right in the heart of beautiful Skåne! 🌲☀️

A fantastic day surrounded by forests, Scandinavian wildlife, some prehistoric creatures 🦖… and of course, Shaun the Sheep 🐑 – a true favourite among both young and old!

It was great to see colleagues enjoying a relaxed day together with their families, sharing laughter, good conversations and plenty of memorable moments.

A big THANK YOU to all our colleagues and their families for making it such a wonderful and enjoyable day! ❤️

On Friday, August 28, Oresund Drydocks had the pleasure of being invited to the naming ceremony of Furetank’s newest vessel in Uddevalla.

It was a truly memorable and dignified ceremony as the ship’s godmother, Anna Mattsson Lundgren, swung the bottle and officially named the vessel Fure Vasa, in the presence of Furetank CEO Lars Högblom, representatives from FKAB Marine Design, and many other members of the maritime cluster.

The afternoon also brought some fantastic news, with the announcement of an order for four new vessels in the Vinga series. A great milestone and exciting news for the Swedish maritime industry — congratulations to everyone involved! 👏

Oresund Drydocks was represented by our CEO Peter Andersson and Sales & Marketing Manager Magnus Malmström.

A busy week at Oresund Drydocks!

Full activity along our western quay with the mobilization of Olympic Zeus, while M/V Alppila is receiving the final touches before completion.

At the same time, our docks are being prepared for the next projects — keeping the momentum going and our teams focused on delivering for our customers.

Only two weeks to go until SMM in Hamburg!

The countdown is on to SMM – the world’s leading maritime trade fair, and the Oresund DryDocks team is ready for a few busy days filled with inspiring conversations, new connections and discussions about future docking, repair and conversion projects.

Find us in Hall 2 – Booth B2.EG.210, right under the lighthouse, where we will be exhibiting together with our partners at Landskrona Maritime Center.

We are pleased to welcome M/S ALPILLA from ESL Shipping to Oresund Drydocks, and we would also like to thank Fiducia Rederi AB for placing their trust in us with the docking of M/V ALICE.

Emelia
An important and successful day on the 25th of July in Mariehamn, Åland - namegiving and launching of the galease Emelia. Built after the original Emelia design from 1889, 8 years after the first oak was delivered in 2018 and several thousand hours of skilled work in Mariehamns Sjökvarteret she finally met her true environment.
After the smooth launching she is now safely moored at her outfitting quay were the remaining works continues, aiming for being ready for the tall ship race event that takes place in the Baltic sea 2028.
Oresund Drydocks is proud and greatful to been given the opportunity to support this initiative to keep the knowledge of building and sailing the ships that has such a major role in our common legacy within shipping industry.

Oresund Drydocks and Naval Group continue the cooperation on maintenance of the FDI frigates to be delivered to the Swedish Navy. The frigate type with two already delivered to the French and Hellenic Navy´s has a high operational availability rate. Such availability rate is achieved by thorough planning of the uphold periods where the scheduled maintenance is combined with the technical operational feedback into a well planned maintenance program.
Last week ODD was visited by Christophe Winel and Iris Fajolle from Naval Group were topics around a upcoming TLS project was discussed. Looking forward to contribute to these new and important asset’s and capability for the Swedish Navy!

Another week has passed, and with the start of a new month, activity remains at full speed at Oresund Drydocks.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Admare Shipping / SCA Östrand for the trust placed in us to carry out her scheduled class docking.

At the same time, KBV 201 is currently in our floating dock, M/S Visby is alongside our main outfitting quay, and several additional Swedish Coast Guard (KBV) vessels are berthed along our southern quay.

It’s great to see our facilities fully utilized and our teams delivering on multiple projects simultaneously.
