We're in Miami, ready for two busy days at the Airline & Aerospace MRO & Flight Ops IT Conference.

During the event we will be handing out Guru2 demo cards we’ve prepared for a number of airlines and operators attending the conference. Each card gives access to a one-month free trial of Guru2 configured to the airline’s fleet.

Today marks the final post in our December series ahead of the holidays. Thank you for following along as we shared more about our history, our products, and the work we do every day in performance engineering and safety.

This video captures this year’s Julgransflygning, which flew over our office in Malmö. It is a Swedish Air Force holiday tradition where aircraft fly in a Christmas tree formation as part of formation training.

Today’s December highlight is our camera- and social-media-shy Software Project Department 😄

What do you do at Flygprestanda?
– Developing the Guru2 app.
– Helping colleagues turn off the security alarm in the early mornings when it has been accidentally triggered.
– Testing Guru2
– Designing Guru2

What is your favourite thing about your job?
– Our teamwork!
– Free bananas and cookies 🤭
– The huge variation in our work. There’s always room to learn something new and grow.

If you weren’t working in your current role, what would you love to do?
– Power engineer.
– Something related to football or gaming. Or both.

Do you prefer a white Christmas or sunny escape?
– A white Christmas with lots of snow and around –10 °C. Clear blue skies and a nice cup of tea.
– Somewhere in between. Snow is great, but in Malmö it often turns into slush, or slask, as it’s called in Swedish.
– A snowy escape. I love snow but I’m not a fan of Christmas hashtag

Can you describe your role in 3 words?
– Build. Maintain. Improve.
– Testing, coding, Minecraft villager sounds 🤭
– Test, test, test

Favourite Christmas movie?
– A tie between Die Hard and Home Alone.
– I don’t watch movies
– I don’t usually watch Christmas movies, but in Sweden we have a tradition of watching Donald Duck and his friends at 3 pm on Christmas Eve... Dad jokes included.

Fun fact about your team that people might not know?
– Not all of us drink coffee, but some of us drink enough for everyone.
– Team pizza lunches are a regular thing. Even ex colleagues still join us, and the local pizza place practically has our Siciliana 🍕 waiting when we arrive.
– My team love hiding tiny Santa Clauses around my workspace when I’m away. And yes, they do this all year round 🤨

For our December highlight, day 22, meet our aviation enthusiast and Airport Analyst, Ashley Gray, the only woman in our Operations Support team.�

What do you do at Flygprestanda?
I am an Airport Analyst who also works on Mass & Balance, Manual Load & Trim Sheets, and AHM 560/565 implementations.�

What made you excited to join Flygprestanda?
I am an aviation enthusiast, I have my PPL and an Aviation Technology degree from the United States. So I love everything aviation, and I feel at home with what I do.

What is your favourite thing about your job?
Learning something new everyday about different aircraft types and systems, and assisting customers.�

Fun fact about you, or your team that people might not know?
My wife and I have eight cats, and we have a wild hedgehog that lives in our garden who we have named Jeff.�

If you weren’t working in your current role, what would you love to do?
Own a cat rescue in Greece!�

Do you prefer a white Christmas or sunny escape?
After spending 8 years in Las Vegas, I prefer the cold and white Christmas.�

Can you describe your role in 3 words?
Math, Math, Math�

What’s a tool/app/trick you can’t live without at work?
Inkscape, its a program I use when making Load & Trim sheets that allows me to tailor it the way the customer wants.�

Elf with Will Ferrel "SAAAANNNNTAAAAAA!!!"
