This past weekend we got to hangout with our friend Jamie from Howl and his family at a place that is nothing but amazing. Old forest, off grid, log cabin, sauna, foraging and exploring. If you want to join we'll be going back together next year!

We've had some rain to say the least 🫣😅
The water levels are crazy high in the region and in our little creek we're having more water than a normal spring flood at the moment. For the past 30 years of data the highest the creek has been is just above 20 m³/s, and that is the spring flood, and now we're going on towards 17 m³/s😅 Nature for sure is powerful.

Yesterday marked the 10 year anniversary of finishing our ~1400km hike through the Swedish mountain range, from Grövelsjön in the south to Treriksröset in the north. For the two of us it was the first big adventure we did together and by the end of the 68 day journey we both knew that this was just one of many more adventures we'd do together.
We haven't done any large hikes like this since but finding our home, getting married, getting our own dogs, starting a company and being the parents of two young children is a pretty neat continuous adventure to be on.

Penny is really growing into a beautiful looking pup! If she has even half the energy to running and working as she has to be a goofy puppy now she'll be a great sleddog. Looking forward introduce her into a harness by spring winter time.

A quick little addition to the bilberry video posted earlier. These are the tools we're using and I know they can be controversial in other countries but they are fairly standard across Sweden, Finland and Norway as a quick and efficient way of gathering berries.

Last summer I was gifted this knife by Jonathan Sandén and I've truly enjoyed using it for the past year. I found some good Birch bark that could be utilized to make a very simple but functional sheath with a spruce root as a lanyard for carrying it around my neck. Very simple crafts but still a lot of fun to keep the hands busy.

As Josef loves to find mushrooms when we are out in the forest I made a small foraging basket out of Birch saplings and spruce roots.
Soon I'll need to make another one for Tovah, and one for Hannah, and then probably a few more just for fun 😅
