Welcome to Northern Soul Journeys.

We're Jeremias and Hannah, a family living in northern Sweden with our Alaskan Huskies.

Dog mushing is a big part of our lives and the heart of what we offer, but it's only one part of a much wider connection to the outdoors. We love fishing, foraging, bushcraft, working with our hands and finding reasons to spend time in the forest in every season.

The boreal landscape is our home, not a backdrop or something we visit from time to time. It shapes how we live, what we learn and the experiences we want to share.

Through Northern Soul Journeys, we invite people to spend time outdoors with us and our dogs. Whether that's standing on a pair of runners behind a dog team following a trail learning about forest culture and knowledge, attending a course diving deeper into skills or sitting around a fire with something warm to drink.

We'll share a little of all of it here, the dogs, the work, the seasons, the places and the everyday life in between.

Josef have always been comfortable around the dogs but seeing him take more space the dogs listening (well, some of them) to him and him enjoying it all is definitely a massive life goal for us. Time will tell what he'll enjoy doing, but for now working with the dogs is definitely high up on the list for him. But he's still only 3 and a half so attention span is so so 😅

Wet, humid weather has meant taking the start of fall training a little slower than usual.

So while we're waiting for colder, drier conditions, we're using the time to go through the gear we need and make sure everything is ready for the season ahead.

Lines, snaps, tuglines, harnesses, cart and brakes ,nothing complicated, just making sure the small things are in order before the kilometers start adding up.

Josef is as excited as we are for the upcoming winter. Last season he fully figured out how to stand and hold on to the back of the sled and his own goal for this season is that he wants to drive completely by himself. And who are we to deny that?😅

Bear might not be as big as his father was, but he's slowly (very slowly🫣😅) starting to get the same type of mannerisms as him. Which is a great thing as Njalla was a fantastic dog.

This past weekend we got to hangout with our friend Jamie from Howl and his family at a place that is nothing but amazing. Old forest, off grid, log cabin, sauna, foraging and exploring. If you want to join we'll be going back together next year!
