Sri Lanka approved regulations, under the Immigration and Emigration Act, allowing nationals of 40 countries to obtain a free visit visa for one year.

While the visa fee is waived for a 30-day single-entry visit, travellers must still obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arrival. The measure builds on a plan already approved by the Cabinet decision and is designed to boost international tourism arrivals.
