It has been a true privilege to collaborate on an event with a Swedish legend, Alexandra Charles, the queen of nightlife. In 1968, she opened the first modern restaurant-discothèque, Alexandra’s, in the heart of Stockholm, drawing inspiration from the vibrant nightlife scenes of Paris, New York, and especially London in the ’60s.
With Alexandra’s arrival in the Swedish nightlife scene came the queuing systems, exclusive VIP access, and dance floors, attracting a diverse mix of guests from various backgrounds, ages, and styles.
Until its closing in 1988, Alexandra’s was a hotspot for international celebrities, hosting icons such as David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Jack Nicholson, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Kirk and Michael Douglas, Harry Belafonte, Ingrid Bergman, Björn Borg, ABBA, and various members of royalty.
Today she chairs the charitable foundations 1.6 Million Club and 2.6 Million Club, which focus on women’s health.
