Cykling tours in Colombia

For those who want to cover ground but still enjoy local atmosphere and colour, our road tours stick to well-paved roads while still encompassing varied scenery and a huge range of cultural experiences. While the distances on road trips are adapted to the topography of the stage our road trips are an excellent way to maintain or regain your fitness level while enjoying a

fantastic holiday. We suggest riding a road bike and a support vehicle will follow the group with basic mechanical service, water, energy drinks, fruits and Bocadillos (Colombian energy bar). Colombia Bike Tours was founded from a passion for traveling, visiting new places, meeting new people, escaping from the crowds, experiencing nature and most importantly - a passion for doing all of these things on a bike. Road Biking allows you to be part of a postcard and the slow pace of travel allows one to really appreciate the environment through which we are traveling. The satisfaction and sense of achievement after tackling a steep ascent makes the breathtaking views that more spectacular as you have earned them. The aim of Colombia Bike Tours is to offer unique cycling adventure holidays that provide an alternative view of the host country's landscape, culture and cuisine along with safe, fun, exciting and challenging bike tours. Born in Neiva, Colombia and living in Sweden since 1992 he found the passion for cycling in 2010. In February 2016 Harvey decided to arrange a bike holiday in his country. He quickly got in touch with two passionate Colombian cyclists who introduced him to the fantastic world of road biking in Colombia. Now Harvey is eager to share these experiences with all bike lovers around the world. We are proud to combine our passion for cycling with the beauty of our country. Harvey is also the co-founder and owner of Stockholm Salsa Dance, one of the biggest dance schools in Stockholm and has a lot of experience organizing dance events and dance trips. After numerous years of working and developing his love for dancing, Harvey now wants to show his beloved Colombia to the world and share the beauty of doing it on a bike.

Day 2 – Along the Mantero River

We rolled out after breakfast on day two, greeted by cold temperatures and light rain that followed us for most of the day. The route took us along the Mantero River for a demanding 120 km, mainly on rough gravel roads that tested both legs and focus. The final 25 km were on good asphalt, a welcome change, though they included a 12 km climb—long but thankfully not too steep.
Once in Huanta, we spent the evening fixing and preparing our bikes for the next challenge. Tomorrow’s menu is no joke: gravel roads all the way up to 4,100 meters.

Day 1 – Huancayo Bound

Day one started after lunch, following a long night bus ride from Lima. Still a bit stiff but full of excitement, we got on our bikes and headed out. The stage was 67 km long, dominated by a 18 km climb that slowly dragged us up to 3,900 meters above sea level. The altitude made itself felt early, but the views and the sense of beginning something big kept us going. A tough start to the route, but an unforgettable one.

Day 8 – Havana and Las Playas del Este
Our final ride took place in Havana, cycling through the city’s vibrant streets before heading out toward Las Playas del Este. Classic cars, music, and colorful buildings surrounded us as we pedaled along the Malecón and beyond. The contrast between busy city life and the calm, turquoise beaches was striking. Riding back into Havana felt like closing a circle — tired legs, full hearts, and memories from every mile of the journey.

Day 7 – Viñales to Las Terrazas (Northern Coast)
We headed north from Viñales, leaving the valley behind and riding toward the coast. The scenery slowly shifted — farmland turned into coastal roads, with flashes of the ocean appearing between trees. The day was long, but the changing landscapes kept us moving. Arriving in Las Terrazas, nestled in the hills, felt like finding a hidden oasis after a full day on the bike.

Day 6 – Soroa to Viñales via Reserva Natural del Güira
From Soroa we climbed into greener, wilder landscapes, cycling through the Reserva Natural del Güira. The road wound through dense forest and rolling hills, where birdsong and the scent of vegetation replaced city noise. It was a challenging but magical stretch, and when the dramatic limestone cliffs of Viñales finally appeared, they felt almost unreal. Ending the day surrounded by mogotes and to***co fields was unforgettable.

Day 5 – Cienfuegos to Playa Larga (South Coast)
We left Cienfuegos behind and followed the southern coastline, where the road hugged the sea and the air was heavy with salt and heat. Palm trees lined our way, and small villages appeared and disappeared just as quickly. The ride was long and demanding, but the rhythm of the waves and the open horizon carried us forward. Reaching Playa Larga felt like a reward — warm water, quiet beaches, and the sense that we had truly crossed into another side of Cuba.
