These few frames feel like a beautiful déjà vu from a trip of a lifetime. Some years ago, when the sakuras were in full bloom, we fulfilled a long-standing dream of surfing in Japan. Lost in translation amongst the sky scrapers of Tokyo, embraced by the zen-like peelers of Kamakura. Then touching down with the roots of the Japanese heritage on the island of Amami. Eclectic & harmonious.

We had a good run in southern California this year, like every year. Surfing amongst yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s legends. Patrolling up and down on the PCH. Adam did a long awaited return and captured moments that we love the most, the ones immersed in the Pacific.

This time of the year come mid October we migrate to Southern California for those yearly classic moments. Just like Swiss clockwork the Santa Ana’s are kicking in, offshore winds and back to back swell. Peelers from dusk till dawn. Roadtripping from Encinitas to SanO and Doheney, tacos at Fish 101 and daily raids to Lazy Acres. Thanks to everybody that made this year just as classic as always.

We do love our other winter destinations too: Santa & Lanka, but come January we are over the moon excited for a POP-UP off the beaten track in Africa.

Rugged yet warm and welcoming. Endless waves to explore and small eclectic villages to get lost in. Between our road trips we wind down at our friends’ eco lodge. How does that sound for a winter break?

Here, the sun powers the electricity, water is recycled to keep the gardens thriving, and lemon trees cast soft shadows across two quiet courtyards. Soulful rooms – doubles, triples, or a family room for four – become your home for the week. As always we wake up at first light. Fully present. No notifications.

COMING IN HOT: Surf & Mindfulness Retreat in Morocco Winter 2026 - off the beaten track.

This winter, for the first time in a decade, we’re opening a brand new destination. Come January we leave the cold and darkness behind, heading for the sun, sand, and salty Atlantic winds on Africa’s west coast. The waves here are playful – perfect whether you’re paddling out for the first time or fine-tuning your noserides.

Our base is Sidi Kaouki – a small coastal village where life moves in slow motion, and the waves roll in to a rhythm you’ll soon call your own. Here, you’ll find open beaches, deep breaths, and a natural sense of presence.

We are staying at Surfakademin’s ecolodge – an architectural dream in stone, clay, and wood, designed to blend seamlessly into the Moroccan landscape. Electricity comes from the sun, water is reused to nourish the garden, and lemon trees cast shadows across two lush courtyards. You wake to the sound of birds and the scent of the ocean. Present in the moment. No notifications.

Vi tänkte som så att vi skulle passa på att berätta lite mer om vad som står på menyn i sommar på slottet. Surf på morgonkvisten, när vi rullar tillbaks in på gårdsplan har .se styrt upp smarrigaste brunchen som serveras i parken. Ja du hör ju själv vi vibrerar på fin frekvens. Sen så chillar vi vid poolen, kubbar en runda eller stroppar runt i San Jean De Luz. Framåt senare eftermiddag är det dags att rulla ut mattorna för en mindfulnessession som tom får zen-munkarna att yppa avundsjuka. När man inte trodde det kunde bli bättre är middagen uppdukad lagom till att solen långsamt börjar smyga ner i Atlanten. Som en vän brukar säga, it could be worse. Lapp-på-luckan nu ett par veckor men fina är att dom första två har vi plats till just dig och din käresta eller kompis om så önskas.
