Episurf Medical

Episurf Medical Episurf is a Swedish medical device company offering personalised implant solutions for patients. The joint implant is CE-marked and called Episealer®.

Episurf Medical combines advanced 3D imaging technology with the latest manufacturing technology to create personalised implants for patients suffering from articular cartilage damage and underlying bone lesions. We use MR/CT images to create a virtual 3D model of the knee/ankle. The implant thickness and the surface geometry of the Episealer® can then be adapted to fit the patient’s lesion and an

atomy. Episealer® Knee and Episealer® Talus have helped many patients back to living an active life! Please visit our website for more information >> www.episurf.com

Many people believe that Episealer® implants are only used for small cartilage injuries, but that’s not the case. The implants are designed to match each patient’s individual anatomy and the size of the defect.

Using MRI scans, a detailed 3D model of the knee is created. This provides a clearer picture of things like:

✔ Cartilage damage
✔ Changes in the bone, such as swelling or cysts
✔ Effects from previous surgeries
✔ Signs of osteoarthritis
✔ Other abnormalities

When an Episealer® implant is considered a possible option, the report can also show how and where it may be positioned – supporting the surgeon in making an informed treatment decision.

What’s the difference between a traditional knee implant, biological treatments – and Episealer®?

Some treatments rely on your body to heal. Others use standard implants that don’t always feel like a perfect fit.

A patient-specific solution is designed to match your unique knee – helping restore more natural movement and everyday function.

Curious what that could mean for you?

“My knee doesn’t limit me anymore. I can do whatever I want, I can run on a daily basis, go skiing, I can play with my children and be a soccer coach again. So I’m really really happy.”
