በበራህል ወረዳ ሃለ-ጉቢ ቀበሌ በደት-ጋራብ (አፍዓዶ ጓሎ እና ኤሊ-ጋራብ) አካባቢ የሰደድ እሳት ተነስቷል ። የአካባቢው ነዋሪዎች እሳቱን ለማጥፋት የተቻላቸውን ሁሉ እያደረጉ ነው፣ ሆኖም አከባቢው በመንገድ ችግር፣ በውሃ እጥረት እና መሬቱ በደን የተሸፈነ በመሆኑ እሳቱን በሰው ኃይል መቆጣጠር አይቻልም።

The Erta Ale volcano in Ethiopia.
​Located in the Danakil Depression, Erta Ale is one of the few places on Earth where you can witness a persistent lava lake. These photos perfectly illustrate the cycle of creation and destruction: the molten rock cools into a dark, brittle crust on the surface, only to be torn apart again by the intense heat rising from below.
​Location: Afar Region, Ethiopia.
​The Name: Erta Ale means "Smoking Mountain" in the local Afar language.
​The Action: The glowing red lines are "fissures" where fresh, liquid basaltic lava breaks through the cooling surface.
​The Experience: It is one of the most inhospitable yet beautiful places on the planet, often reaching temperatures over 50°C (122°F) in the surrounding desert.

A muddy lakeshore in the Saudi Arabian desert just gave us a 115,000-year-old selfie—in footprints. 👣

Discovered in the Nefud Desert, these ancient human footprints were left by early hunters and foragers at a prehistoric watering hole. They offer a rare, tangible snapshot of a day in the life of our distant ancestors.

What’s truly remarkable? Footprints in mud usually vanish in days from sun and wind. But these were buried gently in sediment, preserved for millennia, and recently revealed by erosion.

They rewrite maps of early human migration, proving that ancient people thrived in landscapes we once thought were empty.

Sometimes history isn’t written in stone. It’s walked in mud.
