Uppsala International Summer Session Swedish language and courses related to Swedish culture, history and society located in a charming university town. Students come from all over the world.

The UISS is Sweden's oldest and largest summer language program. Backed by 50 years of experience, we offer a well-developed curriculum. Nowhere in Sweden will you find such an intensive summer program with such a rich choice of courses. The UISS organizes excursions that allow our students to visit sites around Sweden and to experience Swedish culture, history, and society first hand. People come

to Uppsala from all over the world and though the majority are students, we also have quite a number of adult students, such as teachers, interpreters, translators and business people.

A private room is included in the full program fee. We accommodate our students at the student hotel of Uppsala. It’s located at Klostergatan 16, a very central and convenient location close to the train station.

Meet up with people in the common room area or cook together in the communal kitchen. Prefer to have some time alone? No problem. You have everything you need in your own room.

You can also use the laundromat and small gym within the building.

"When I set off for Uppsala this summer, I could never have imagined that I was about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. UISS is unique. For innumerous reasons.

One of the many is that it is set in the welcoming and cosy (mysig as we would say in Swedish) city of Uppsala. The perfect university city. It offers recreational places like the singular realities of the Uppsala student nations (student clubs) where you can feel like a true Swedish university student.

Uppsala is also home to historically and culturally significant sites. The University of Uppsala is the oldest university in Sweden. So where to better learn about Swedish culture than in the very city that has seen the birth of it?
