We've been a little quiet on on our socials recently but we're working hard behind the scenes. Kicking things off with a super proud moment as has been awarded the  Travellers’ Choice Award for 2025!

At 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, we specialise in alternative food culture tours - from vegan and vegetarian journeys, to sustainable dining trails, to experiences exploring food trends, tech and innovation. Each tour is designed to connect people with Singapore’s heritage, flavours, and future.

We had the pleasure of bringing food experts 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗼 (CEO, The Better Meat Co., Author and Host of Business For Good podcast) and 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗶 𝗢𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼 (CEO, Plant-based on a Budget, author and mega-influencer) on a plant-based culinary tour around Singapore!

DID YOU KNOW? The 𝗠𝗶𝗱-𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 is a Chinese celebration of the autumn harvest, held in the middle of the 8th month of the Lunar calendar. It falls on 17 September 2024 this year. Lanterns are carried as a symbolic beacon to light the path to good fortune.

🔸️ Singapore adaptation of a popular Wenchang chicken rice dish from southern Chinese city of Hainan
🔸️ Silky 'mock' chicken, fragrant ginger rice and tangy chilli, often accompanied with some hot, clear soup

The Hainanese are credited with introducing a variety of iconic Singapore dishes and drinks, largely a result of working with British officials and affluent Peranakan merchants during the 19th and 20th century. Food traditions from home began to be influenced by various cultures and have now become a staple for many locals - from the coffeeshop / 𝘬𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘮 and the 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘚𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, to the 𝘏𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘒𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘛𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵 and famed 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘙𝘪𝘤𝘦.
